I run my Cyberbeast in chill mode, low/soft suspension setting, full regen. Amazing smooth, confident experience. It appears it is mostly a “front wheel drive” in this setting. No issue, works great with the permanent mag up front. Busy in town, metro traffic, 252-279WPM. As such, I will cross rotate every 3k miles, 5k miles if most is highway driving. This will help keep off road tire tread less noisy, and keep tread wear even.

Hi Joe, thanks for the video. Is the X rotation pattern recommended by Tesla? I'm curious. I have always rotated front to back and back to front to keep the tires rotating in the same direction. But maybe I have been doing it wrong. And what about the tire pressure monitors in each tire. Do they need to be reset for placement on the truck ? Thanks for all your hard work.

I am curious about that as well. Maybe the tire mfr would have some thoughts. Since I went to radials 50 years ago, I understood 2crossing was a no no per Michelin..

How much do the wheels weigh?
@ZipZoomZip2 ай бұрын
About 96 lbs. with the OEM AT tires installed. The wheels are actually quite light for their size and load rating. So are the tires.

Thanks for this good educational video. Probably most owners will have this work done at Tesla Certified garage or tire shop, but having watched your video, they will know what is going on and what to look for. Having a Tesla gives owners far more control (and understanding) of all aspects of the car's operation through the app and the touchscreen. Also, as an aside, your video reminded me of HeavyD Sparks Cybertruck videos, especially the one where they replaced the wheels with outboard snow tracks (making it a mini-Cyber Snow Cat!). 🙂 Unfortunately, they hit some bump in the snow going too fast and broke the thick vertical suspension rod on the front left wheel. The rest of that video was a "trail fix" to get the vehicle off the mountain. 🤥 Other videos showed off-road Cybertruck performances in sand dunes and rocky trails. Good advertisement and many nice things said about Tesla!

You use a lift but not impact gun, I find this entertaining. 😁 I didn't see a spot for the Jack stands, where do you put those after lifting with a jack?
@JoeTegtmeyer4 ай бұрын
@@michaelhess4825 I did that for the video … I do in fact have an air gun and used it off screen, but to get the correct torque, I recommend you use a torque wrench. Thank you for watching.

Thanks Joe. Nice shop! 1. The truck looks clean. What's your method? I have a bunch of water spots and rust and etching streaks from a water spot remover that dripped. Just did 2 panels with Citrisurf 77 and blue Scotch bright.....good as new. Your thoughts on Bar keepers friend? I bought DIY metal coating, but scared to use it yet until the panels are all new. 2. My model Y went 10K before I rotated. Front and rears had less than 2/32 difference until then. 3. I was taught to not use a torque wrench to remove stuff. Could affect the accuracy of the instrument. Harbor Freight has a nice breaker bar with lifetime warranty for cheap. Use my Milwaukee now for a quick job.

I'd be interested in other DIY maintenance for Tesla. Brakes in particular. Using Regen all the time doesn't wear out the pads but I think the calipers,, slides etc should be serviced. I'm sure there are other things that would probably need to be done. You explained this so well. If using jack stands how exactly would you do that ie, one floor jack at the lift point, where do you place the jack stands? The jack is at the lift point. Again, great video.

Are they the same jack pucks as for the 3 and Y?
@ZipZoomZip2 ай бұрын
The Cybertruck doesn't need jack pucks as long as your jacking solution only puts pressure on the jack points (and not the surrounding area). Jack pucks for the Model 3 and Model Y have a locating nubbin on them that will interfere with jacking the Cybertruck.

Can the Cybertruck jack itself up? Extract height, put in stands, then lower suspension.

The axle bolts are coming out and ruining the splines. Do you see a way to lock them in for safety?
@ZipZoomZip2 ай бұрын
If the axle bolt comes out, either it was never torqued correctly to begin with, or someone loosened it and didn't re-torque it to spec.
@lawrencekendrick64402 ай бұрын
@@ZipZoomZip it's not a common problem but offroaders probably won't check torques or even look at the bolts. A pin or lock would be good in general.

Liftless..... There appears to only be one lift point at each of the four locations. If you only had one heavy duty jack and four jack stands, how do you get the truck onto the stands? Is there other points where a jack stand could be used? ,,,,, nevermind... I found the answer in the manual. There are both lift points and jack stand points identified in the manual under "Jacking and Lifting".
