its crazy that on XB we get such controllers for 70 usd while on PS5 they cost 3-4x more. Probably the only good thing during this gen on Xbox.
@thephototechy4 күн бұрын
I think Sony has very strict requirements for a PS5 controller, and doesn't even allow them to implement a vibration feature. I did read Sony being fined in France for some third party controllers issue on PS4. Looks like things haven't changed for PS5 either, personally for PS5 I think edge or any dual sense modified controller makes sense, no point touching any third party controllers.

Nice review mate. How is the thumbstick tension when comapred to a standard XS controller and Gamesir G7/Kaleid? Also, do the thumbstick have any nasty slop/unresponsivness when resting?
@thephototechy4 күн бұрын
@@IncredulousByDesign hey bro the tension feels higher than my G7se for sure and on par with the Xbox controller, I'm working on a way to measure this as well for future reviews. This time around we have true 0 deadzone option so we can see the actual centre of the sticks and the play. The output of the sticks does feel ever so slightly slower from the get go, this sorta showed on my Xbox latency test as well.

Hey bro ! Nice review ! Just a quick question. I ordered myself the razer V2 chroma during the prime sale in uk and just came across the new V3 ! But it seems to be not available still. What do you reckon ? Keep the v2 or wait for the new V3? Thanks 🙏
@thephototechy4 күн бұрын
Hey bro V2 is an amazing controller, but I did encounter issue with my sticks developing play towards top and there's no way of recalibrating V2. If you have a good centre point out of box and you got a good deal cheaper than V3 TE(£100) then keep it, otherwise get the V3 TE over the V2. There's been reports of V2 having broken back buttons after some play time, and the V3 back buttons are definitely better placed than V2.
@cchhaarriitthh944 күн бұрын
@@thephototechy I got it for £75 ! Hopefully it’s good out of the box with no stick drift. Thanks for the reply ! Also, any idea where the V3 TE would be available ? Amazon doesn’t have it yet !

I agree. There’s something off with the aim on this controller, but I felt the same way about the Gamesir hall controllers. I went back to Elite series 2 (with the advanced personal knowledge I now have of setting deadzones, curves, etc) and it feels much better. I think I’m just done with Hall effect sticks… here’s to hoping TMR sticks are truly the best of both worlds (perfect?) and the G7 pro has them 🤞
@thephototechy4 күн бұрын
I'm also hoping TMR would make the HE experience better as well. Gamesir controllers have felt better after the report rate update, prior to that I wasn't using them too. I have the Thrustmaster's HE module coming today, hoping that one feels better.

Custom trigger deadzones is nearly cheating for racing games. Forza used to have hard coded brake lock-up if you pressed them beyond 88% without abs. Being able to disable a button is huge, especially if you got huge hands 😂

@thephototechy2 күн бұрын
Hey bro can you please share the games you mostly play? I can definitely understand how HE can feel different. Personally I've been able to get used to the HE sticks with linear response output in COD. Nacon revolution X has a built in deadzone but the algorithm used for the alps on that one is truly a great performer.
@fourtyxx73062 күн бұрын
@@thephototechy so I mostly play warzone and halo infinite, with the fusion pro it was too snappy for me I couldn’t get used to the aim response curve on it. With the Wolverine v3 te it was ok but I felt like there was some sort of disconnect between my thumbs and what the sticks were doing lol idk it’s hard to explain. The best example I can give is like hydraulic steering in a car vs electric steering, the feed back didn’t feel the same. I was switching back and fourth from the v3 and revolution x and my precision on the nacon was night and day better 🤷♂️ oh and honestly I wasn’t a fan of how high the tension was on the Wolverine v3 sticks, maybe that was throwing me off a bit as well

@@fourtyxx7306 bro thanks a lot for sharing, I think that disconnect floaty feel you describe might become an issue in any Ksilver JH16 sticks. I returned it b/c of the dookie jh16. Cheap plastic feel, and back buttons being flat and sharp. Just enter recalibration and circularity should go down to 8-10%. (Depending on how centered the module is install by the factory) You must recalibrate with a 3% inner deadzone (or else the recentering will be off and above .01-.04 once you remove the deadzone) that way recentring behaves well under 0.005 when you go with 0% deadzone. Also you can calibrate with an outer deadzone at 30-65% to give yourself headroom with that setting. To be able to lower or increase the range. (Default just makes you max out before hitting the edge. Good for LS bad for RS) From factory they are calibrated with filtered 15.5% with squared diagnals. Simetrical ranges may be off. And you may need to use the tape method when recalibrating. (Notice undershoot issue in 4 different gamepads) ---- When pressing the triggers don't press to hard. Just enough to make contact so you can properly adjust the settings and have them reach 100% when using the trigger stops.
@thephototechy4 күн бұрын
Bro I've done at least 15 calibrations on mine 😆, even tried without the friction ring but the right stick on mine got too much register on bottom and not enough top, so looked like the stick not centered with the top shell. I could get the centre to be really good on mine as well. The issue to me feels like a slow start of the sticks, which becomes uneven, my latency tests showed this to slower as well compared to even elite series 2.
@Vizr.4 күн бұрын
@@thephototechy yup, I tried 4 of the 15 available just before they put them up on AMAZON. (Whoever bought them Open box discount. Got properly calibrated sticks by me. Lol. Don't mess them up.) ---- All right sticks had undershooting on one corner. And crazy overshoot on a cardinal direction forcing me to compensate just to have even ranges. (Used 1-3 layers of scotch tape. With varying thickness on one particular side of the stick.) This could be. Not from not properly centered to shell. Or just a mold issue with the plastics. Or b/c they calibrated with to much pressure. On the flimsy "anti-friction" rings. Lowest I got my right stick was 12%.(b/c of compensation. Could have been lower) Yet I can use calibration tricks to bring the LS to 5-6%. (8-10% being the sweet spot) But yes by the default. Outer Deadzone setting is useless. Unless you calibrate with 30-65%. I even recorded around 2 hours of material. But was to lazy to even edit it. Could half shifted and resoldered the modules to properly fixed them. But preferred to get my money back with no questions ask. 4/10. Converting a fusion 3 to HE would be a better option. Edit: WALL. Sorry not sorry. But it beat having to edit a video. Trust me I did like 100+ calibration and different methods. RS+X 3-6 rotation, 3 trigger presses. BURNT ON MY RETNAS. Pain in the ass. They need better QC Another thing I noticed was EMI with both modules while pressing any trigger. If you remove the deadzones let a stick recenter. It will correct itself via software. (THIS IS BAD for micromovements) then press a trigger and you'll notice some interference. I understand the LT magnet messing with the LS. But the RT messing with one or both. Means that they may be sharing the voltage under the same circuit. Since I didn't open any up. I dont know if there are just using a resistor for it. Or also a ferrous metal to reflect any EMI. Just Lazy.

@@Vizr. Bro I think if they get rid of those tiny inserts between the larger output values, that might make a difference. But then according to my tests we'll have less than 100 zones from centre to out, around 90ish. I think that'd be better than what it has right now. Not sure about their R&D but the response from start of the sticks did come out to be slow on FP4 for me. I have the Thrustmaster's new HE sticks coming today and excited to try them out, hoping they've done something different to JH16.
