Thank you for the video. I did not know that there is automatic transmission fluid in the transfer case and gear oil in the transmission itself. I have a 5-speed manual transmission in my 1993 wrangler.

another awesome video thanks! instead of smacking the ratchet with my palm which tends to break blood vessels and it gives me bad stingers, my go-to tool is a large rubber mallet. the heavier the mallet the least swing you need to be effective, and with it being rubber I don't feel bad about wailing on it if I have to. harbor freight has them for $3 or so

Good straight to the point video. Spent some time under my 89 YJ over the last week, changing the lubricants in the axles, transfer case, and transmission. Even gave the old girl a few squirts from the grease gun while I was at it.

Many thanks for taking the time to make the vid. It was VERY clear, informative and helpful. I will be doing a fluid change on my '01 trans and x-fer case this weekend and your direction is greatly appreciated. Take care, man.

Will change the case oil will that help the gear go in eser
Hay guy, next time you are under there, look how many bolts hold the NP231 onto the transmission. I have an AX5 and at first I thought one of the studs was missing. Lower right passanger side. However, now that I have transfer off, that hole has a plastic insert screwed into it. I think it is on the fish but it appears to no longer be a part item. Mine only has 5 studs.

lol...the plane...the plane...I only laugh because I watched that show too...lol...awesome video...learning so much...I will be changing the oil pressure sensor because it has died on my tj...will let you know how I do...should be interesting...lol

Scott AKA mach1mustang1971 Yea .. that was kinda impulsive. But hey what the heck. About 15 minutes before that plane came over there was another that was crazy loud. I live near a small airport that occasionally gets some interesting planes come through. Oil pressure sensor is pretty easy. Just check the new one. Most of the time there is a blue or read coating on the threads that screw into the block. That is a thread sealer. If it doesn't have that coating, use a little of that white thread sealing tape. It's cheap and you can get it at any hardware store in the plumbing area.

Scott AKA mach1mustang1971 You are very welcome and I'm happy to help :-) .. Just in case you haven't messed with that thread seal tape. Check my vid here demo'ing the tape. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep3bcqBoo6mdqsUm For the oil sending unit you will not need over 2 wraps being it such a fine thread. Again .. on the new sending unit, if it has that red or blue coating on the threads. You are good to go! Take care my Jeepin' brotha!!

Seems so easy until you have a drain/fill plug somebody over tightened and left it stripped. : /
@PhatboyHD884 жыл бұрын
Never ever drain oil without opening the fill plug first.. if you drain the fluid first and your fill plug is seized in the t-case you are now stuck .... so for those watching this video it is incorrect don’t incapacitate your jeep by not checking and loosening your fill plug first...
