All these kiddies complaining about 17rwhp increase are delusional, that’s a 12% increase for little money in one afternoon, y’all are spoiled these days getting a 200hp with a tuning box. Back then this was all you could do without digging into the motor. It’s not done for speed, just making a vehicle sound better and more fun to drive, possibly even better MPG.

A cam and heads is the only worthwhile way to go if you want actual increases. Otherwise a v8 swap is fairly easy on those.

Most likely a L35, swap to the improved fuel injectors on the LU3, or get a Fuel rail marine intake and reprogram

maybe not, but realistically, all they did was give it an air filter upgrade and an exhaust and reprogrammed the ECU and to get 12 HP over their base run is actually not bad. those 4.3 V6 can make good power if done right

17 rear wheel horsepower, that’s not bad on a stock vehicle. Everyone is spoiled these days getting 200hp tuning diesels and turbo cars, that’s how it was back then. That’s over 10% rwhp increase, that’s a great improvement.

Thats about a 12% increase....in comparison if you added 12% to a 400 hp engine youd gain almost 50....thats definitely worth it.....

A greater than 10% gain in horsepower at the wheels for about a thousand bucks is awesome. If you wanted to tell the world you've never wrenched on a car, you could have just said that.
