Today's Tool Review Tuesday Episode features the ECHO PB-2620 Handheld Gas Blower. This is ECHO's best in class handheld blower and is loaded with all the features needed to quickly clear debris, leaves, grass, and dust. This video also features the optional rain gutter kit accessory, that hooks up to this blower. One year ago, I featured the other ECHO handheld, the PB-2520. Here's a link to that video:
ECHO 2520 VIDEO REVIEW: tinyurl.com/yc...
ECHO PB-2620 INFO: tinyurl.com/yc...
I want to thank the ECHO Company for sending this ECHO Blower and Gutter Kit for a video review, which puts it though the paces and showa honest results.
Question of the day: Would you rather use a backpack blower or a handheld? Does the handheld have the power you're looking for?

To warm up your leaf blower, try covering your hand over the tube. I warm up my stihl bg50 for a minute slowly, then ill run it moderate for a 30 seconds before wot. I let it idle for 30 seconds before shutting it off. Slowly letting it heat up and cool down imo helps the engine last longer. If i had the money id buy a powerful battery blower for short uses for short 2 minute uses instead of warming up the 2 strokes

I normally always have a hand held & backpack on board except today, forgot to put my 580 BTS on the van but have to say the 525BX was outstanding for a hand held! Heavy wet leaves and horse chestnuts were cleared pretty easily, next week the 580 will blast them off into the woods! 😁

Good video. My old hand held blowers have worn out so I'm looking to buy a new one now. I have an Echo that I've been using 20 years and just love it. I also have a Red Max that is a POS. Very cold-blooded, too heavy, just doesn't come close to the quality of the Echo. My Red Max back pack blower, though, is awesome and has been performing well for about 10 years. I especially appreciate you showing the rain gutter attachment - that's absolutely required at my place. Thanks.

my 10 yo stihl started acting up this morning soooo a new echo 2620 is now in the garage. Experience has told me a ten yo tool does not owe me anything. Will mess with it a litttle bit,,new gas,new fuel filter , seafoam. Would be nice to have in the outbuilding where I keep the exmark, which likes a blowdown after a workout!

I recommend using non-ethanol fuel and ECHO Red Armor Oil too, for maximum life and less downtime. I agree that a zero turn needs a blowdown after mowing. It's a lot more work to clean it after it gets caked on there.

The curved schnozola is there so that the air exits on the centerline of the handle. Think about why that is and it makes a lot of sense. Also, and don’t take this wrong but blowing leaves across a cement driveway can be done on your hands and knees. You don’t need no steenkin’ leaf blower.

In the fall I use my current blower to blow wet leaves and tree debris, often packed in and/or sitting in water. How do you think the PB-2620 would do from your experience using it direct from the roof? I did view the part where you blew wet leaves out but they did not seem as compacted as mine get. Sometimes even partly frozen (LOL).
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 3 жыл бұрын
This blower does a nice job, but for those really stubborn leaves, I use the PB8010, but that's a much more expensive option. The flat nozzle blower tube on the 2620 will work best for getting under the leaves. I think you'll be happy with it.

I checked with the Echo dealer today and he was not sure but he did not think a kit was available. I already have a backpack blower. I was thinking of adding a small handheld blower that could be converted into a vac to help me when I do fall clean ups in the fall. Often, leafs will get caught in corners where the backpack can't go. I was thinking that the smaller handheld blower or vac could do the job. The only one I liked was the Stihl SH86. That's $360 where I live in Canada. However, Shindaiwa is having theri 20% off fleet week this week at my dealer. I can get the Shindaiwa eb262 (same as the Echo PB2620) this week for about $230 with the discount. It just would not have the vac. attachment. Big price difference though. @@MarkThomasBuilder

I may not have shown the starting procedures. This blower starts the exact same way ECHO trimmer and blowers start. You flip the switch to on, set the switch to the choke position, press the primer bulb 8x's, pull start it until you hear it make a sputtering sound, then flip the switch off choke, and it should start on the next 1 or 2 pulls. If you try other ways to start it, I've found the engines to have a chance of flooding and then hard to start. Hope that helps.
