The only thing that “stops” my tinnitus is to ignore it. It doesn’t actually go away. Sound merely helps me ignore the loud screeching, so I have the illusion I don’t hear the tinnitus. I can go several days at a time and never hear it until something reminds me I have it or I’m in a totally quiet room. Right now, it won’t go away because I’m thinking about tinnitus.
@2wind20008 ай бұрын
Screeching!? I wouldnt say mine is that bad, but just high pitched "noise" which also pulsates.
@grannyvapes41548 ай бұрын
Mine is similar in that I can ignore it and forget that I have it, but when I take meds for sinus, it can suddenly start "screaming " at me. It can sometimes increase in volume making it harder to ignore. However, this water sound does seem to bring that volume back down to where I can go on ignoring it again.
@sandrag86567 ай бұрын
It helps a bit to calm me down while listening. But since some days the screetching became so loud that t's impossible to ignore it in silence and it disturbs my sleep so bad... i wish I'd know why it increased and only wish it decreases again.

To stop the ringing you hold pressure to the side of your head in the temple area. You put pressure on the little bones and it stops the noise. You'll know you have the right place when it stops. It doesn't take that much pressure rather. Just hold it for a few seconds and it will stop. Tinnitus is just vibration causing the tiny bones to knock together creating the ringing sound.

@@BlingyBea I’m so sorry you’re dealing with it. If you focus on it, it can be maddening. I’ve had it for so long it is now a natural part of my life and thankfully I’ve learned to ignore it. That said, I have worked purposefully to manage it. It depends on the situation. I live in the city so it’s rare for me to be in completely silence. When I am in quiet spaces, I have speakers in my apartment. I play nature sounds, running water, fire cracking and tinnitus background playlists that resonate around the frequency of my tinnitus. I play them SOFTLY, not too loud. I play the sounds on my iPods quietly when I read or work in quiet places. There is also an option to play background noise on AirPods. I don’t use that feature. I hope that’s helpful. It is a journey. Sending you love, blessings and resilience! ❤❤❤

@@TheAubreyLynch Thank you for commenting back to me. It really bothers me when it’s quiet, like right before I go to bed or if I’m just sitting down. I’m usually on my iPad with my ear phones on to help me not concentrate on the noise. When I’m out and about I guess the outside noise blocks the ringing where I don’t hear it and I pray yeah it’s gone but no it’s not. What’s been hard for me is that I’ve been wearing ear plugs for the last 20 something years to block out noise and now I can’t use them and have to get use to noise, I have a fan on and try to make myself listen to that instead of the noise in my ear. I have downloaded some of those sounds, I’ll hopefully find one that works for me and try running water on the rocks, when I run my water faucet I do notice that it helps mask it. I’m still trying to learn to ignore it but I guess that comes with time. Bless you for being so kind and giving me some advice on how you have learned to deal with it.🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is the best masking of tinnitus in my (L) ear ❤. I love it. It is very relaxing. For me it is an added layer; I grew up beside a brook close to our house and can visualize the spot in the brook where I heard this sound; not only visualize it, I can mysteriously relate to it with all of my senses- I remember seeing what it looked like, playing in it (touching), hearing it bubbling along depending on the season, except winter when it was frozen, but aware of it under the ice when skating. Thank-you for this. It is truly a gift from my childhood memories and a wonderful distraction from the tinnitus.

I think any auditory input that's sufficient volume enough is to drown out tinnitus. I've had it for years. The brain learns to filter it out. This may not be true for everyone and I'm sorry that you have to endure this. I personally am going through a number of KZbin videos that are geared towards relaxation, nature sounds, whatever. By now I have quite a collection. For me, it's easy to mix these sounds together by just playing both at the same time just with one with more dominant volume. Of course any creative version of this is up to the reader. I wish you luck listening to this for a sense of peace through the travels that help you cope. It's my understanding that for some it's quite a maddening thing. :(

I just recently developed pretty bad tinnitus. Seems like these sounds sort of have the opposite effect for me. My tinnitus tends to sound like high pitched crickets--not a pure ringing tone. Listening to crickets, waterfalls, etc, at first masks the tinnitus, but the tinnitus actually gets louder as I listen. Eventually, I can hear it clearly over the masking noises. This happens regardless of whether I'm "concentrating" on it. I have discovered that deep bassy noise ("ear cupping" ASMR, for example) while not covering it up, somehow helps it dimish... so after a while of listening, then taking off my headphones, I may not notice the tinnitus for a while, or even if I concentrate on it, it is so faint I'm not sure if it is still there.

I've got high pitched crickets too. My ENT told me earphones can make it worse for some people and to use sound that is further away from my ears. At night so I don't wake my partner if I wake up and it's loud I use an audio book on a ten minute timer to distract me as I fall asleep.

I have the high pitched cricket/ringing in right ear. This particular bubbly noise with whooshing sound like my clothes in washing machine does help me. I have to use headphones and turn sound all the way up!! HOWEVER, I find if I’m listening to a calm soothing guided meditation helps me more. I focus on the calm soothing voice and totally focus on guided meditation plus my breathing, I soon forget the incessant high ringing and actually fall asleep.
@junecoombs4566 Жыл бұрын
@@oakherder17yes, I too find listening to an audio book or a guided meditation that uses very descriptive calming walks a long the beach or a trail in nature helps so much….I really focus on the calm soothing voice/sounds and before I know it I’m asleep 😉

I suffer from the low and awful pitch which makes me seem off balance and the noise of a room full of people make my hearing so annoying and upset that I ha e to leave the room and angry at myself.. but finally I found out it can be stress related which I never knew because that's something you just wouldn't believe and I thought it was from my earbuds so I know why now I suffer from tinnitus and this helps my hearing go back to normal with a lot less tingling after about an hour or more due that I lay down and put my earbuds on with this playing and I'm so glad I found the right noise to help because white noise and pink and also brown noise didn't work... Thank you to the person's that put this together!! ❤💯✌️

Ben Thank you so much. this is amazing and thank you for caring. The water over rock (not forest birds) is perfect, its natural, calming, completely dissolved it for me. Just before I tried many from white white noise to frequency, it wasn't a good experience. and at times exacerbate the condition with tension. Spiritually you have purpose in your life.. Bless you, lots of love brother.

Thank you for your channel and all the advice, information and help you provide. I hope others find relief from this video. I have multiple layers of tinnitus and so I find Brown Noise or a fan in my room works best, running water doesn’t work for me because it’s out of context. If I were outside it would probably work wonders because I love the outdoors, but indoors, in my house, especially my room…it makes me a bit anxious because it feels out of place - I feel like a pipe has burst or I left the water on!!! 😄
