You definitely need to watch The Fifth Element (or at least the alien diva's performance) so you can understand the magnitude of what Dimash just did... In the movie, the sound was computer-generated because "the human voice" couldn't sing it...until there was Dimash. Love the reaction! He's amazing, and it just keeps getting better and better with him.

The first song "Confessa" is basically a Italian song (first two verses Mandarin), a sad song about a husband whose wife stopped loving him and he is asking why?. The second song "Diva Dance" is from movie "The Fifth Element" is a song by alien in the movie, which has some part electronically mixed, but Dimash does it live here, you can check that. I also suggest that you Google the very important sad but true back-story about a Japanese born Chinese actress during World War 2. This performance by Dimash is a Masterpiece sung in Marderin. Confessa is a song with a lot of emotion and powerful lyrics. Made famous by Italian singer Adriano Celentano , it is a song lamenting that a man is losing his woman. She has told him she no longer loves him and is leaving him! The chorus translates: But why are you a different woman? But why are you no longer you? But why did you not say it before? Who does not love will never be loved. Di first sings in Chinese to set the story for the Chinese audience then switches to the original Italian. The lyrics now make the interaction between Di and the dancer understandable. What a song, sung with such emotion!! And The Diva Dance.....Di sings it better than even the women I have heard! Great review. Confessa is an Italian song about a guy finding out his lover is interested in someone else (she "confesses). The first part is sung in Chinese, then switches to Italian. Diva dance is from the movie "Fifth Element, sung by a blue alien using computer assisted vocals that are in parts too difficult to actually sing, Dimash gives the best overall performance of anyone that I've every heard (it's usually sung by women).

"Usually sung" is too strong. :) The song isn't song often at all because it is so impossible for humans. There are only a handful of people who can truly sing it, all of whom are women other than Dimash, and none of whom can match the descending run he does in other versions: this version isn't close to his best. The Diva Dance is a full song from The movie The 5th Element...they computer generated the song because they wanted it to be impossible for any human to sing it...it's AMAZING how he does it but YOU HAVE to see THE entire song done in his bastau concert!! You’re not too far off lol. The Diva Dance originated in the movie Fifth Element with Bruce Willis. Except the higher part of the song in the movie was enhanced by electronic keyboard because it was too high for the singer. Dimash did his own version, and rocked! Nice reaction video.

Diva Dance is truly remarkable, and this isn't event the most refined version he has done (Bastau probably is) and from sound engineering stand point the mix didn't pick up the low notes here. If you can fit that in your schedule we don't mind a reaction to the same thing :)

The second song is called The Diva Dance from the movie, Fifth Element, in the movie the song is preformed by an alien singer. So basically him singing this song, he's living up to his reputation of being an alien. BTW during the recording of the original song for the film there were some parts that the actual singer couldn't do so they did it digitally, but of course Dimash managed to do it LIVE.

In order to create verisimilitude Dimash fully embraces the role of the character who sings Diva Dance and who is later killed. (I haven't seen the movie Fifth Element but I've read this.) Hence the fall backwards, simulating the alien's death at the end of the song.

When the writer of the song was composing, he needed three different singers to help record for practice before Dimash was brought in to learn the song.
