Love the airtag hiding place. Great idea, thank you. I assume its outside to stop the thief hearing any sounds the tag may give out. Genius.

Yes and it has better reception as the fuel flap is just plastic

Bit of a waste of money if you ask me Simon. However, nice video on fitting it, but next time wear more bling. Happy Christmas to you all 🎉

Is there a way to replace the plastic door with a metal one like the old Land Rovers? I never liked when they switched them to plastic. It feels so cheap! Especially on the Range Rover.

Just why? Might as well just remove the original door and fit a locking fuel cap like we used to do in the early 1970’s. Could even be a chrome one for added bling [yuk!]
@laurenceholdcroft99652 жыл бұрын
Why would you want to remove a panel that matches the bodywork and replace it with a panel that shows the filler cap?

Interesting but a waste of money, it doesn't add anything. However, does your fuel flap lock? My dealer says that the locking fuel flap is only fitted on the 400e. To be honest, I'm not impressed having to buy an old fashioned key locking fuel cap.

Is it just me that rotates my 90’s diesel cap so it is upright even though it’s hidden 😅 suits the looks of the stig but not sure I can see much of a market for that

I think that is a waste of time and money. All of the accessories I've fitted have a good use, bar one and that's your blue anodised filler cap cover, which I just like, but I don't feel the need to show it off.
@L6632 жыл бұрын
Wait till you hear the price.... £400-500 !
@nohedes2 жыл бұрын
Well I have to concur that the fuel filler cap is garbage, but I also thought the new Defender has a built in tracker. Certainly I get regular false alarm calls from the Land Rover security people (apparently there’s a well known bug that causes false alarms)
@JamieM852 жыл бұрын
Why would some go to the trouble to design it in the first place, let alone part with their hard earned and fit it!
@L6632 жыл бұрын
You are not alone in asking that question - i think it was an idea that was copied across from JEEP.....
@petergarner59912 жыл бұрын
Well Simon, if you like that kind of thing, it's great, I'm sure some people want it. Personally I think it's a waste of time and money. It's the first thing I haven't liked.

Looked better before, especially as Stig is white and the filler flap is black - bit of a colour clash. The "Plumb" logo is a bit annoying as well - will they pay you for advertising? I'm not sure I see the point of the product. It lets you see the filler cap, but unless you have a really flashy one like Simon does, then it's not that interesting to look at, surely? I think if I had a Defender, I wouldn't let Plumb products anywhere near it. They look well-made, but aesthetically they're rather jarring and seem like a solution looking for a problem. What next? See-through wheels so you can see inside your tyres, perhaps?
@L6632 жыл бұрын

Pretty useless really and makes the vehicle look worse - much better to use the original and hide the Air Tag behind it - great idea that. I also use an Air Tag in my vehicle; but I hide it inside the vehicle in a place that is not blocked by metal. Air Tag batteries last about a year, so you don't need to change batteries very often.
@L6632 жыл бұрын
Hi John - yes i was pretty happy with my airtag hideout ! Not many fans of the fuel flap at the moment.
