This was really helpful. I've been going crazy trying to figure out why my power washer wouldn't start. Thank you 👍

This video was super helpful and saved me the time, hassle and expense of taking it in for a service call. Advice was spot on.

I have a 4gpm 4000psi Powerhorse that I have had for about 3 months. Has maybe 30 hours on it. Recently it started "purring", vibrating hard on and off while in use. Was told it was gas cap and was told it could be my carburetor. Thanks for the vid because I had no idea how to remove it for cleaning. Going to try replacing the gas cap first. Thanks man!

These also had an issue with valves coming out of adjustment

@@smallengineguys oh great, sounds like I should just take it to a small motor mechanic lol
@smallengineguys3 жыл бұрын
@@mr.ashley.jr. take off the valve cover. Turn engine over slowly till one of the push rods are all the way up. It should be just barely loose. Now try other side. All the way up it should feel the same just barely loose. If you have feeler gauges it .007 intake. .o11 exhaust. I literally do it by feel . Just to the point you can just feel it tap.

Good job! Glad i could help. I charge 80 for that job the big guys charge much more. You saved a bundle and learned how to do it. Most small engine carbs are exactly the same.

so what was wrong with the cap not venting?
@smallengineguys4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the question is but if your cap isnt venting buy a new one
@magnumfour884 жыл бұрын
@@smallengineguys You said the cap was not venting. Why? Did the vent hole somehow plug up? I mean their are no moving parts in a gas cap. Do you buy new ones or somehow clean/open the vent hole on the old ones.
@smallengineguys4 жыл бұрын
@@magnumfour88 o ok. Yes the vents get clogged. Then it acts like a straw i coolaid when you hold your finger on it. The coolaid stays in and wont flow threw.if the gas cant flow to the carb it wont run right. We replace the cap when that happens but in a pinch a small drilled hole will work
