Anyone who’s watched our channel or any off grid channel knows, this life is nearly impossible without solar panels. We currently have three different brands of panels we’re using on three power stations. These Sungold Power panels have been amazing! We’ve had them for a few months now and I’m very happy with the quality and performance. So much so that we’ll be replacing everything with them in the future.
My mom is on grid in the lower 48 and currently looking to put together a back up solar system for outages. I didn’t hesitate to recommend these panels to her for both quality and price.
Use the link below to get up to 30% off through 10/20/24

@sungoldpower_official
We opted out of their affiliate program so I don’t make anything off your purchase. We just want to share these quality panels with you.
Thanks for watching,
Craig & Chandra

I see a lot of concern about the deck not being in this video. Don’t worry, the deck is still there and we will be showing more work on it this weekend. We intended to have this video out sooner but had lost some of the footage.

Did you find a temporary place to mount them after the deck went on?

@@debjukes5548 we’re still working on the deck. Headed to Home Depot today to hopefully get the rest of the deck boards. We’ll be moving them once we start framing the roof.

Glad the solar panels are working well for you. You were thinking of moving them. Putting them on the right side of the house would keep them out of the snow until you build a platform for them.

They’ve been amazing, now we just need to get some batteries to store all that power. Gotta get the porch done first though.

I'm glad that you got what you needed that's going to work for you. I think a lot of people feel the same way. To me it doesn't matter when it was posted because I don't get to choose what autoplay is next. I guess that's what happens when you're a newbie 😳

I looked up the Latitude for Anchor Point, AK and found it to be 59.7796 degrees so your optimum average angle for your panels year round would be about 60 degrees. In summer, you could go 15 deg less at 45 degrees. In winter, you could go 15 deg more at 75 deg. For "solar south", I looked up your Sunrise & Sunset for Halloween 10/31 to be 9:28am & 6:13pm. So, on that day, your "solar noon" will be about 1:50pm. If you look where the sun direction is at that time on 10/31, then that is your "solar south" optimal average direction to face your panels. (Maybe you'll have a distant tree or landmark there that you can designate to be your solar south marker!! And that solar south direction and your marker should remain the same for you year round.) Let me know if your solar south direction agrees with your perception of where the sun seems strongest to you. Enjoy!

Oh wow! Amazing info. I’ve already put the date and time in my calendar so we can see where the sun is for our Solar South. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation.

@ouralaskahomestead ok, great... I "discovered" solar when I built my house in 1983. I took a course in "passive solar energy" and oriented my construction to get the rear of my house perfectly aligned to my solar south. At that time I placed 3 water based solar panels on my roof for water heating. Those panels are still working and typically preheat well water from 42F to 100F. When I redo my roof, I'll be removing those and converting to electrical panels like you have. My roof is at 45 degrees elevation which is optimum for a Connecticut Latitude. I'm enjoying your videos, keep them coming!

This is just the beginnings of our solar system but we’re pretty conservative on our usage. We won’t need anywhere near that large a set up. Not having to worry about heat or air conditioning help a lot.
