Whoever ends up with this car, fair warning: you're gonna be replacing that. Also, wtf with no subframe ties? That would have given you all the rigidity you need in the chassis AND given you something much more solid to attach your roll cage to.

I currently run in CAM and I don’t see this car being competitive. There isn’t enough Rearend adjustability compared to what most folks are doin to their cars, the automatic needs to be swapped for a TKX or Magnum, and they did nothing for weight savings except for ditching the AC so it’s going to be on the heavy side for CAM-T. I was expecting rebuilds and mods to compliment the car. New suspension kit is the only reasonable thing that happened imo. I imagine that engine could be rebuilt and modified to make ~200whp which would have livened the car up plenty for autocross and keep it daily drivable. Wider tires are a must with stiffer suspension, sure, but you don't need race car wide tires. Probably could have ran 265/40/R17, stayed in the profile of the car, and not have had to hack up the body. Plenty of lateral grip and contact patch for the car's footprint. Swap out the auto for a contemporary 5 speed with that 3.77 rear end and it would have breathed amazing new life into the car and let it keep its identity. It's not even a 3rd gen Camaro anymore with all the changes. Might as well just have sold it and bought a 5th or 6th gen instead.

If you can dream it we can build it." Late 60's Chev 4-door, crew cab, El Camino, 4x4. I have seen a wagon, but all they did was chop the roof off the back, and it doesn't look right. If you notice the wagon and the 4 door has the same angle on the back door and window as the El Camino. So take a wagon or 4-door, chop the back end off, and attach the box from an El Camino. .

Very NICE project. Somehow I am not subscribed to this channel.. Fixed that issue. Even hit the like button 3 times. That totally helps right? Had an 87 RS and 88 IROQ. At the same time for a while there. Sold them in 2000. Man I miss those cars. Granted the RS was my let's learn how to work on cars by trial and error passion project. Let's just say it was in less than ideal shape if anyone after me wanted to use OEM printed directions. Looked amazing. Pulling anything apart or troubleshooting issues was probably a nice surprise for those who bought it from me... Kidding. I literally walked them through the car for a fair amount of time going over everything I did to it then asked are you sure you want to buy it? YEP. Off ya go. I WILL HAVE ANOTHER 3RD GEN SLEAD! Love that body style. There was build a while back where they went wide body only they added 2 inches in the front and I think 3 out back to the existing lines. Looked stock and didn't at the same time. It was all at the top of each body section so the midline of the car had a bit more of a shelf look. SERIOUSLY sexy. Gave her some hips. I know it's more expensive or time consuming but those rims and that white body would look EPIC like that. Damnit. Somehow 3rd gen camaros for sale ended up in a search. Oh honey I have some flowers for you.......... What I can't just give you flowers now and again?

At 32:30 I like to add a third trick and it's an old method I've used for years especially when people tell us "the vehicle has gears" before we purchase... 1. Raise the Rear up(both sides) 2. Make a mark on the driveshaft 3. Starting from 12:00 position of the wheel, start spinning it while watching the line you made on the driveshaft As you spin, the mark will wrap around once and again...etc. Keep slowly spinning and counting the wraps of the line until you make one full revolution. You will get pretty close to what your gear ratio is.

My favorite part is adding the external fuel pump in the back. Leaves out the entire 8 hours process of R&R the fuel tank to pull the sending unit , extract the original pump , add the short piece of 3/8" fuel hose and correct filter strainer in the tank bottom. Then proceeds to screw the pump directly to the rear differential tunnel without any rubber isolation mounts. Nowhere in that fuel system did I see an in-line fuel filter. They do sell an electric fuel pump for this application that comes with a bypass type regulator that can use the factory 5/16" fuel return line back to the tank. The fuel pressure can be set to 7 PSI for the carburetor floats. The fender flares , nose air splitter and rear spoiler were ugly.
