Little Known fact, the Boss 302 doesn't have a Coyote engine. It has a modified version, nick named the Road runner engine. Better rods, no internal oil squirters, different intake, different exhaust cams, same intake cams as the gen 1 coyote but most importantly a forged crank shaft, forged alluminum piston heads and better valve springs allowing it to rev to 7500. The Boss 302 doesn't start throwing rods untill 1000 h.p

Okay you seem more knowledgeable, they didn't say if they gspped rings. You mean to tell me, from the factory, they gap them for power adders already??? Or i wonder if they went in prior and took care of that? I cant see that kinda power without popping a piston without gap
Lotsa fun, until the pumps spike the power halfway up the power-band, gaining 250 Hp inside of a 1000 RPM band & the tires break loose at the back & you go spinning off the road backwards towards that tree at 95 MPH....& then you gotta' tell your Dad what you did to that pristine Mustang he paid for, for you.

It ended up making 664, a full 110 more than it did on the previous build of 554 on a 2-bolt block. It had a creep in it but for the money that was ridiculous results. @CorollaManDan2 жыл бұрын
Pump gas can support around 1000 if done correctly, that's why there's such a high volume injector/voltage booster on the pump. It would've made an extra 12-15% on E85 and around 24-28% on a non nitromethane alcohol blend. Nitrometh could give it a 35-40% increase depending on volume of the mix. They could've made 1500 easily on a nitromethane ethanol mix but would've washed bearings and destroyed maincaps.

@markball70283 жыл бұрын
@@likenem it depends on what generation of coyote. The 3rd gen has been proven to hold a 1000hp stock. First gens are good for around 600 to 700hp. So much of it depends on tuning on how long and how much horsepower you can get.
@likenem3 жыл бұрын

@markball70283 жыл бұрын
@@likenem depends on the tuner. Gen 3s are more complex. With duel fuel injection. Port and direct injection. The gen 3 also has a 10 speed auto thats a big improvement. It takes advantage of keeping the coyote right in the meat of its power band. So you can have a gen 3 making 100 less horsepower than a gen 2 and still hold its own. But I’ve heard the same. If you’re chasing big numbers the gen 2 is the way to go. There have been gen 3s that have reached high 8s in the 1/4 with stock engine and 10 speed transmission. Just added intercooled twins

I might not believe what it gets on a dyno, but I sure will believe when it blows up. If one is going to force induce an engine, then stronger rods, pistons and lowered compression ratio are required for reliability. Nobody talks about the reliability afterwards, especially in the context of having something that would be good for both the race track and daily driving. Will that engine still run reliably, even after 20 years, as is configured right now?
@zeuscasey3 жыл бұрын
The boss 302 is fully built from the factory and been proven for yrs what they can handle. No motor is gonna last long pushing that kinda of power. But if people getinto this hobby thinking there gonna push 700+rwhp and not have something let go. Well there in the wrong hobby. Stuff breaks its what it us. I've seen 400hp factory motors let go that where all stock.

@@zeuscasey I agree with you, that's a wrong hobby to be getting into. First, one will never get to legally experience it on public rods, and second, it'll just blow up on the race track. It's a lose-lose proposition, to write nothing of how much it all costs, be it in time or materials.
@zeuscasey3 жыл бұрын
@@AnnatarTheMaia really anything pushing over 700rwhp really shouldn't be peoples daily driver. you don't need anything over 500hp on the street. 500hp on the street is no slouch with a good suspension set up. Now 7-800hp just seems like the beginning point to get you in the game anymore. No matter what brand it is its just gonna have issues at some point. I just think alot of people think you can have all this power and its gonna drive like stock and last for ever and it just doesn't. The car culture is a goofy thing tho, I've seen people dump 20k into a car there still paying a note on. Instead of paying the car off and then modify it. And I agree the potential for loss is huge especially when modifying. You just never get back what you put into them. But gotta pay to play.
