Every pull was amazing for the characteristics that each one showed! This was a torque monster peaking and holding near peak starting at 3,700ish to the mild falloff around 5,000 RPM! Surprised by the relatively flat and wide peak HP curve lasting for 1,000 RPM starting at 5,000-6,000! The sweet spot for the setup at that time. It hit close to peak and held it near peak for 1,000 RPM! As a strip car in a fairly light chassis, this would start to plant you in the seat around 3,000 RPM and want to rip your face off all the way to 6,000RPM... Wide torque curve, modest torque fall off, wide flat HP curve near peak HP for 1,000 RPM on every, single pull! That is surprising! 15:10 - flat wide torque & HP 17:00 - flat wide torque & HP 19:00 - flat wide torque & HP 20:00 - flat wide torque & HP

My concern with these fuel injection kits is (electronic) part failure. These are not the EFI systems on mass produced vehicles- made to have very low failure rates. Heard some horror stories of people being stuck somewhere for a long time waiting on replacement parts of something in the EFI system fails (because none of it is at the local auto parts store). That was never an issue with carbs.. well, typically. I do like the convenience and performance/economy they offer. But the "either they work or you are stuck at a motel waiting on parts during your trip" nature is a concern.

Nice build there gents. But I have to say I would have kept the turbo. Just for the fact it's making so much torque that way. I know this the setup the "customer" wanted but 770 ft/lb of torque is no joke , now granted all that at 3500rpm is probably pushing the luck with the rest of the drivetrain . I would have split the difference myself , I would go with 9:1 comp with the alloy heads with twin turbos and log manifolds to get around the packaging concern . Run the EFI and the turbos and you could have had 700hp and 750ft/lbs on a curve from 3000 to 6000. That would have been a proper monster with low noise and nice manners on pump gas or E85.

an oil pan evac is a good system for racing, but i prefer a vacuum balance system for the street. that is a 5/8 hose or tube from a baffle on the valve cover directly to the inside of the air cleaner. that balances the crankcase pressure with the intake stroke of the valve timing event to neutralize the difference in pressure. that helps the piston rings to seal and do their job. since the crankcase has a few pounds of pressure, isn't that actually adding a couple pounds of boost into the intake? yes it is.
