I stumbled into them while reading a Geza X bio while eating lunch today at work. I took a listen because the Geza article reference a band named the "Butt Trumpets" and it made me laugh. And oddly enough, I rocked Betty Blow Torch for 2 hours, and I really like them. Bianca was one edgy bitch-however, there was a little light there as well. RIP Bianca.

Bianca was Betty Blowtorch. It's a nice tribute, but Bianca was the spark plug that made these girls the best kept secret ever. I got to meet all of them when I was only 18 and about to ship off on the military. I had no idea what to make of her at the time, due to her raw personality. However, she was really nice to me and my friends. Gave us a lot of shit, though. Probably because we were a bunch of dorky little kids.

I was lucky enough to meet and work with Butt Trumpet at EMI LA in 1994 helping set up their record release party at Dragonfly with NY label mates D-Generation. Bianca and Sharon were members of Butt Trumpet before forming Betty Blowtorch. After the demise of BT Sharon and Bianca were mainstays on the Hollywood club scene playing in numerous different bands before they rejoined forces to form BB. Betty Blowtorch: And Her Amazing True Life Adventures (2003) is a documentary film that followed BB from early on, thru their debut record produced by GnRs Duff McKagan up until the tragic and untimely death of Bianca. In 2008 Blare and Sharon were members of LA bands Psychostar and Suckerstar. Sometime in 2012 BB regrouped for some 10 year anniversary/ tribute shows with MiaX on bass and lead vocals. The members of BB have been performing in some of the best all female tribute bands. I’ve been friendly with Sharon for 25 yrs now thanks to social media and she has been a member of Priss and more recently Hells Belles-The World Famous All-Female AC/DC Tribute Band that has been America’s #1 AC/DC tribute band for 15 years, Angus Young hails them as the best AC/DC TRIBUTE BAND HES EVER SEEN!
