Finally a lambda sensor video, can’t believe no one has ever made a video before, thank you so much!!! Quick question, would it be the same (0.90-1.0) for an IAME Super Shifter 175cc? If it works on a Super Shifter I’m buying a lambda sensor right away. Thanks again Derek, you’re the man! 🙏💪

Yes it will, most engines will perform best between 0.90 -1.00. there are exceptions but for the unfamiliar stick with the above. Thanks for tuning in PCH

If you are learning to drive use what you have or can afford. if you are racing for championships then get yo self the latest engines, they are the most consistently the best engines

Gidday Derek, thanks for all your guidance, you've been so helpful. If I'm running at the same track all the time & have tuned my kart with a LCU One, do I need to re-tune and/or check the tune every time I race at the same track or once it's tuned, it's tuned? I get weather & track conditions would change from day to day but would they really change enough to have to change the tune, particularly when I'm really only a weekend warrior who won't ever be running at the elite level. I'm also running 3x karts so does that mean 3x LCU Ones or - in the same vein as my 1st q - once it's tuned it's tuned & I can just shift it from kart to kart to tune each one? Thanks again

Hi Dez! What's the durability of this lambda sensor? I've been using the Mychron5 EGT sensor here and I find It to be so fragile... it's a decent tool, but I can't seem to find a way for it to be durable enough (6/8 sessions and it's usually gone). To be fair, we race the old Iame Suddan MY here in Brazil, which produces a lot of vibration :/
@PowerRepublic

Thanks legend , yeah the lambda is better for learning how to set up the carb IMO. The EGT is allowed for competition but I find it a little vague for fine tuning the carb. get a LCU 1 kit and get the carb all set up (float level, air bleed, main jet, Needle clip ) in the combination that suits and then you can take it out for racing.

@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 жыл бұрын
you can weld them in the body of the muffler in between the diverging and converging cones. otherwise in the header pipe is good too. 115mm is what we used to use on the older X30. the modern heated O2 sensor can be placed further away from the exhaust port.

@henryhardachre9603
@henryhardachre9603 3 жыл бұрын
@@sathviksarathy4275 Not as accurately as O2. The O2 sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas just after it leaves the cylinder head. Knowing how much O2 you can then extrapolate with accuracy the air to fuel mix. EGT measures exactly that, the Exhaust Gas Temperature, if everything is normal in the engine you can also extrapolate the air/fuel mix with less accuracy and if things are not normal there could be less correlation between the ETG readings and the air/fuel mix. An O2 sensor measures one of the 2 main concerns in determining the air/fuel mix, the oxygen in the air. An EGT measures the temperature of the result of combustion, which do you think is better for checking for checking air/fuel mix?
