Hey Dez, you really are amazing, seriously i hope your channel grows even more. I have a quick question when i heard the axle bearings. I always heard not to spray WD-40 on bearings? Im not sure why. Also i know someone that lubes ALL bearings each time before they go out, with tri-flux. What should i use for every bearing and what all should i lube each session? How do you lube the bearings for the front tyres? Sorry for the book, thanks mate

Hey Cal, thanks for the good vibes broski! wd is a light oil, if you use it, use it every session and you should be sweet. otherwise use a light spray grease like lithium grease. to get the front wheels, use a long nozzle on a wd style can. otherwise you can take them off the stub axles to spay them. thanks heaps for tuning in and asking questions!

Thanks for the videos. You mentioned that we can use auto transmission fluid in the X30 gear box. Is there any particular grade we must use? Synthetic, Semi synthetic or Mineral.
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
Hey Steven, the IAME recommend gear oil (Wadoil brand) that comes with the engine. you can use ATF if you like in either of the grades.

Hey again, is there an axle bearing and front bearing How to...about cleaning and re-greasing? And how often? Mine look fully encased but I was given almost like a syring looking applicator with a tiny tip with oil in it for such a purpose. Thanks!

Hey mate, I'm in the 4ss junior class and I recently went to the maxxis super sport tyres witch is way gripper than the Vega tyres I was running. But due to it being gripper my kart is starting to hop a fair bit around corners so I put up tyre pressures but nothing worked. So would you know any thing I could do to the kart for it to stop hopping other than changing axles?

Hi. How about some videos on go kart tools. I'm not talking about ones you can buy from a normal tool shop but kart specific tools (like the one you did on the minute gauge) or tools you have modified or made . Thanks
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
great idea, maybe clutch pullers or something like that??
@indosaarelaht804 жыл бұрын
@@PowerRepublic Yeah. Tools for fitting tyres, other carby tools(stands),seat fitting tools, wheel balancing,flex cutting, front axle spacer tool, etc etc. I'd be especially interested in tools that you have modified or made to make working on a kart easier.Thanks.

Hi I would like to know what tyre temps we should expect when using Dunlop DFM tyres. Also what would be a rule of thumb pressure increase from cold to hot tyres
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, not sure on the temps mate as we don't really probe them. We use 10-11psi cold for light drivers and 11-13psi for the heavier drivers here in SEQ most of the year. and mostly the tyres come in around 15psi hot

Hello from Sweden! I wonder which of the two is the best power valve setting on a Rotax Max Evo? A dyno sheet would be very good to see.
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Hej Robin, the modern Rotax PV is so simple to use because the electronics do most of the heavy lifting for you. I would spend more time focusing on your tyre pressures that the PV for faster lap times IMO. We set our PV red cap flush with body of the black PV cover.

Hi there love you're blogs wondering just bought a zanardi kart 2012 in your opinion how good is this chasssis ?
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Hard to say, if it hasn't been flogged out then it would still be good to go. If you are racing for victories, get yourself a current 2020 model and send it, otherwise if you are racing for the fun of and thrills, use what you have or what you can afford.

I've got a TM k9c and was wondering what is optimal egt temperature 6" from the cylinder?
@il2tutorials4 жыл бұрын
6" is really far away. Custom install? Anyway 600-610 is fine. 620-640 if your wanting to push it
@KoriMatthews5154 жыл бұрын
@@il2tutorials would you be talking C° or F°? Mychron installation directions recommend it to be 6" tho. The sensor is right behind my springs and was reading 1050F°
@il2tutorials4 жыл бұрын
@@KoriMatthews515 The pipes that the new TMs come with have an egt point pre installed in front of the springs which is probably more like 3 or 4 inch. That's the point really where all KZ EGT common knowledge values come from so it really depends on how much the exhaust gas is cooling travelling an extra couple of inches. My figures were in Celsius so being 1050F is 565C, i'd say for sure you could make that leaner, probably 1 or 2 main jets from where you are currently
@KoriMatthews5154 жыл бұрын
@@il2tutorials oh I did not know that thanks, unfortunately this older pipe didn't have that and I had it fabd, I'll put another bung in and see what it reads. Thanks for your info👍🙌🏁
