My Uncle had a 97 F250 7.3. 4x4 4dr. He died last year and his wife sold it for $20,000. 1 owner, garage kept, dealer serviced, 24,000 miles and it had never towed or been wrecked. I was shocked that she got $20,000 for it and it sold in 2 days. People are definitely still interested in the OBS.

Perfect explanation of these older trucks, and any older vehicle in general. You start tearing into one repair and everything associated with it becomes more work... O rings, hoses, metal lines, wiring, connectors, fasteners, if you want it fixed right you have to pay. If you just want "the one issue" fixed (like a clogged filter) then you haven't really made your truck any more reliable. You are just keeping it going.

Great video. This explains why in 2021 you should be migrating to only newer 2014 and later 6.7l diesels and keep them stock. The cost of repairs a large expense along with parts cost. I also suggest new vehicle purchases only. I own 4 pickup trucks a F-150 114k manual farm truck (weekends), a 1999 Tacoma 242k daily driver, a 2012 F-250 68k gas auto cattle hauler, and a 2016 6,7L distance driver (weekend) 3 to 5 hour runs 72k. Thereafter, they were pretty damned reliable 'cept for the same o-ring problem on the IPR filling the filter housing full of junk and causing a no-start. Engineering fixed these things fast. fast though. I think they were better days but they are nostalgia now.
