Open the relays and check for dirty contacts. The Powrtouch I show here also has soft start provide by 4 FET's. You can see 2 of them in this video (The 2 TO220 devices sticking out the side of the circuit board) If any one of the FET's were to blow, the drive current would be poor.

Hi Nick do you still do repairs? I came across your informative video whilst trying to diagnose problems with mine. I have the identical board. When it works it's fine. But it works intermittently. I've checked all connections and the battery is new and giving full voltage. Sometimes it powers up. Sometimes it doesn't.

Your question is interesting. I don't recall the Handset to Control unit being encrypted. You had to pair a unique code first. But it wasn't a rolling code, changing all the time. I'm sure it was just bog standard 433MHz manchester encoded Transmitter/Receiver modulation. Trivial for an Arduino with a 433MHz Transmitter module. BUT you'll still need to know it's control codes. I'm not helping sorry.... Set up a search on eBay/Facebook marketplace for Powertouch Remote. If I still had access to the unit(s) It would be an interesting hack for sure.

Having a massive problem with mine today showing battery power of 12.94v going into the unit but light a flashing green and nothing working from mover or connecting the remote that’s had a new battery also installed can’t even sync remote as it’s flashing green

Just had the board out on the bench and everything tests find but there was no load on them the relays look like new however I did not clean the contacts as everything worked , just used a light bulb to see if they were switching, when reconnected one motor drew 3.5amp and the other 2.9amp this was with no load just running the motors with the drive off the tyres.

what a helpful video, cheers mate, i have solder i use for solder joints on alarm cable. is that ok to use on this pcb? or should i use a special solder

Special solder like Lead free is not required on this PCB if you're doing the repair for yourself. Any Fluxed Core Solder will do.

Hiya my motor movers are enduro and they see to lack power , as in and small lump pr bump over and inch high in the ground and the electric motors stall, any ideas, they also randomly cut out when driving and when I take my finger of the button you can hear the circuit board reset and away it goes again, any help much appreciated

Hello. maybe you can help me how to solve the problem with my switchboard. I have an identical model. it is in no way possible to pair the control unit with the remote control. there is also no reaction on the cable (the light comes on). where to look for the reason - in the remote control or the switchboard? the remote control sends a signal because you can hear it on the radio on long waves. relays in the central unit are checked and they are ok.

On the switchboard, locate the R.F. Receiver module and examine it very closely for corrosion. From what I can remember, it is a surface mount construction on a ceramic substrate. You will be looking for degradation of the solder joins on surface mount components.

Hi NIck, I have a problem with a Powrtouch ECB (Model 3 / E Series) which looks identical to the one on your video. When I connect 12V directly from a battery to the 12v input terminals on the board it is completely dead !. The green LED light does not illuminate and nothing else happens. Before this problem I remember when I turned on the actuator switch in the battery box you can hear from outside what sounds like a relay actuating on the ECB, but this doesn't happen anymore. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I'm from an electronics background in the distant past (but now well retired !) so unsoldering/resoldering and meter testing I can do !. Any suggestion(s) would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

If it's been kept outside. Which is most likely. You need to look for water or condensate damage to any of the components on the circuit board. I'd advise you to pop the covers on the relays and check for corrosion.

Hi Nick, Thanks very much for your reply. Yes the caravan is stored outside. When you say "pop the covers", do you have to unsolder them first as mine seem to be difficult to just pop off in situ ?, and I don't want to do any damage to the board trying to pry them off. Thanks …...Tony

My power touch classic mover has stopped communicating wirelessly but works fine with the cable. It is nearly 10 years old but the hours on it must be in the very low single digits. I just use it to get on and off the drive. One minute each way max. If a tv stopped working after 3 hours the company would go out of business. My mobile phones are never turned off. Thousands of hours. Under water. Covered in dust. Hot cold. Working fine. Come to the conclusion that powertouch is like every other caravan product. Expensive to buy and designed to cost you money throughout the ownership. £275 for a circuit board and some blue plastic? £115 for a remote? It would be cheaper to pay some muscle £20 a time to push the van on and off the drive everytime i went away. Shite.

Hi I have the same mover, but it clicks on and off when trying to move forward and back, do you know what is causing this? It work in all other directions?

my mover board the green light comes on the red light comes on as well but is flashing both goes of after 1 minute and the green lights come on on the hand set but when try the buttons the green lights on handset flash any suggestions to why wont work

The board I had went back to the owner a long time ago. But from what I remember, the mover board is very vulnerable to moisture. You need to look for corrosion on circuit tracks, relays and component legs. Look for bad solder joints. Good luck.

When I connect the cable to the remote control (hand set), everything works. I cannot pair the remote control with the control panel. When turned on, the red light flashes 5 times and stays on together with the green light. I press the reset button on the control box and nothing happens. but when i press it while turning on and hold red light flashing 5 times and it starts flashing continuously. I cannot pair the remote with the control box.I don't know if the device is broken or I can't operate it.I tested the handset and there is a 434 Mhz signal .Please help!!!
