Poznan, Poland | Interrail Travels

In this video, we head to Poznan in Poland. We wanted to see a smaller city in Poland before heading to Warsaw, and were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and history Poznan has to offer.
At this point in our journey it was mid-summer, and we had already been to Western Germany near Frankfurt (you can see in past videos), Paris and Nancy in France, Bruges in Belgium and Hamburg and Berlin in Northern Germany.

Watching this video gave me some nostalgia about my own Interrail trip. I also have been to Poznan and it’s a city I definitely would want to visit again.

@@ilanaabbeywalker so my plan was to make a trip to Riga and cover all major cities in between. This sort of worked and I ended up with a route that covered Germany - Poland - Königsberg (Russia) - Lithuania - Latvia - Lithuania - Poland - Germany. There was one major problem: in the Baltic States the railways are barely developed and the prices really cheap, so the Interrail Ticket was useless and I only used 5 out of the 10 days I originally planned. In the end I managed to spend the other five days in another trip, this time to the British Islands.

Small thing: Poznań was never a Polands capital :). Gniezno was - which is not far from Poznań. But saying that Poznań Cathedral is one of the oldest places in Polish history.
