You are welcome. I am not sure of who exactly quoted these words but, Marx and Engels have written in their Communist Manifesto how "toil driven by scarcity has created unprecedented accumulations of wealth." By having differences in status and wealth, people were able to attain power in a different form, and was able to influence the government and the governance of the state. Therefore, it somewhat led to politics as well. Not the exact words but, I think it goes along those lines.

politics is the set of activities that is associated to the governing of a state or a group. Government is what we call the body that is assigned to govern the state/population or a group of people. Lastly, governance is the way a governing body governs its constituents or people.
