Really In my case one note was surprisingly reliable and sync was very good as well. The only issue I had was that it was crushing pretty often, when taking notes.

Putting obsidian in mid-tier is a crime. It may not be GOAT for everyone, but literally every single feature any other text-based notes app has, obsidian also has. The only people saying it’s too complicated are the people *making* it complicated. I use maybe 3 community plugins and have a vault with well over a thousand notes in it, because I only download plugins that solve a problem I actively have, rather than seeking out plugins to change my workflow when there’s not an existing issue. Vanilla obsidian is *extremely* simple to use and only get complex when you try and use every popular plugin on the market. It may not be a GOAT for everyone, it really falls short if you have any desire to do hand writing, but for me, typing is far faster, far more legible, and you don’t have to rely on shoddy OCR to make things fully searchable and allow the software to make your notes more accessible. Handwritten notes will always be inherently limited in many of these ways. Obsidian is absolutely at *least* excellent, and if you compare it to other *text based* notes apps, which is what it competes with anyways, it’s easily GOAT tier

@@Pdfnaega I gotta say, I firmly disagree about the steep learning curve. Yes it does a *lot* of different things, but it’s not hard to use. It’s a plain text markdown editor. That’s the core of it. Learn markdown (like 7 different symbols and how they effect text) and how to link between files and you’re done. That’s all there is to it. Anything beyond that is no longer essential and can be learned as your needs arise. There’s nothing steep about that. If you can open notepad and type in a few notes, you can use obsidian.

When I import any PDF (with light watermark) in Samsung Notes, the Watermark density becomes 100% and on the topmost layer, then It's cant be read, Any Solution please🙏

I have this issue with my iPad Air 5. While using apple notes app my iPad start heating up on right side of it and start battery draining in 1min or less the battery drain 1% . While using notability app the battery uses is 1% in 12 min of use. I have talked with apple they simply run a diagnostic online and said that there is no hardware or software issue . This is my 2 nd iPad the 1st one is having the same issues. In apple community also people have addressed this same issue since many year ago still people are facing the same issue. So I request to everyone talk to apple support and tell them the issue by giving such example because it’s a serious issue

Thank you for your video. It was very helpful. I especially liked how you ranked apps based on platforms they work best on. You may have just sold me on getting an iPad just for note taking. That wouldn't have happened if you only focused on multiplatform apps. .... Also, just a small nitpick. I don't know connotations in other versions of English, but in American English, "Superb" would rank as higher than "Excellent". So, if you were to use American English for your ranking levels, the first level being "GOAT" is fine, but level 2 would say "Superb" and level 3 would say "Excellent". Obviously you were using a different dialect of English to name the levels, but just wanted to point this out for future reference.

The key to using obsidian is understanding that it’s *just* plain text files, with an editor that’s highly integrated with your notes repository. That’s it. That’s all you need to use obsidian, along with some *very* basic understanding of what markdown is. Go watch a tutorial on markdown, not obsidian but plain generic markdown. Once done, you’ll be able to use obsidian. Learning a few basic obsidian specific features like links, you’ll be ready to start using it. Obsidian offers *so many* extra features, but none of them are required for taking notes, and as someone with around 1200 files in his vault, most of them aren’t even useful for most people. Plugins are *almost universally* niche tools that aren’t necessary unless your specific workflow needs them. Taking notes is simply writing in a markdown file. Once you’re comfy and writing things in markdown within your vault, start exploring the different plugins available, both official and community plugins. None of them are necessary, but can add to your workflow. Spend a month taking your notes however feels natural and you’ll get a really good feel for what you want to improve the functionality with, and there’s almost always a plugin that’ll solve your problem. One example of using the app and then later finding plugins to improve your experience is the advanced tables plugin. Markdown can do tables out of the box, and you’ll likely not use them often anyways. If you find yourself using them a ton and wish they were a little more convenient to use, *then* go get the advanced tables plugin and see if it meaningfully improves your workflow. Delete it if it doesn’t. This is how I choose when to add plugins, and it works great. It’s hit the point that I manage my huge vault with no more than like 5 plugins and a custom theme. With an app like obsidian, less is more.

The very first time I encountered Obsidian I felt overwhelmed too, but also I was a bit that they don't feature something like sync-block (they just feature embed blocks). So I decided to move on to Logseq. After some time I did realize that Logseq was not enough for me (knowledge graph was garbage) so did decide to look for something new and at the end I did end up with Obsidian again. But this time I felt less overwhelmed, because I had gained experience as I worked with Logseq. You just have to figure out how you wanna organize your notes and what you have to do therefore in your obsidian settings.

if good notes cannot function at its highest capacity on Andriod devices its not goated. I use both apple and android devices for work and school. I'd like to seamlessly access all my apps on all my devices. Therefore i thnk despite Notion being slow or requiring Wifi or Data to access the library, i personally LOVE how powerful this is and really great to orginze your ENTIRE LIFE! I mean where is there no internet now a days. ITS EVERYHERE! So i think that's a minor set back for me personally. Its still GOATED imo.

I loved Notion but now I’m supposedly full and I can’t add anymore to my notes so I’m pissed! Had I known they’d limit me like that I wouldn’t have used them to start a couple years ago. For me I’m only using my iPhone 14 because my job is busy enough even an iPad gets in the way so I need something secure, sophisticated like Notion with the ability to create multiple organized pages in their calendar format, toggle feature is now a must have for the way my brain memorizes plus it cleans up busy pages and yet I wish it also had a writing feature and better video content storage. Notion stopped allowing videos to play on the pages which was a major bummer for how helpful and fast it made referencing info I need but notions plans are ridiculous with their cheapest option being $8 monthly… not worth it

I personally disagree with your choices here. The main problem is the Evernote. It became buggy, laggy and recently they bumped the price again over 80%. For a note taking app?!?! This is just annoying. Sure, I have a MacBook and a iPad where I use Goodnotes, which is an amazing tool for my work purposes but I need a app for general use and Evernote till now was my favorite. However, I refused to pay 15$ per month (based on the monthly price in my country including taxes), since it makes no sense. I would rather use Samsung Notes at that point. But honestly, there is a alterantive for all the Evernote users where on the free account you don't get spammed with "Upgrade to premium" kind of popups. It's called Ampelenote, can import notes from Evernote, feels more like a Evernote clone but way more responsive when it comes to multitasking and it definetly isn't a problem with my S24 Ultra (1tb version with more RAM) or my Galaxy A35 5G or my iPhone 15 Pro Max. It's something with the 03.2024 update which made the app worse. They have a free app which doesn't have a desktop app unless you pay monthly for it or you're a linux user and use a certain unofficial port which emulates a Pixel 8 Pro device.
