While I do agree that the child was pretty selfish, it's partly both their fault. The mother worked really hard to earn money for the child but without giving a little time and affection to the child, it's inevitable that the kid would think she doesn't love him. I get the message and all, but the mother is also at fault. For example, when he showed her the drawing of her she could've smiled, or said "thank you" and not be all gloomy. The main point is that when the mother doesn't show any sort of affection, appreciation, love, or any type of positive emotions the child will grow up to think she is a cold person and not bother treating her well. It was also nice that she saved up for him. But for all he knew he had a mother that doesn't love him, respect him, shows 0 affection to him. Also, I don't care if a mother or a father is from the older generation and all. Just like we are learning to live with old generation, they could also do some effort to learn about new generation as well. He did not die on the cross to save us from God. Why would He save us from the Savior? He died for us so that we can escape eternal damnation by believing in Him. But why? See , at first adam and eve sinned by disobeying God by eating the fruit from the forbidden tree of knowledge. So ever since then , sin was born and we are sinners. But God made His law to the Israelites to save them. But then again , the Israelites broke that law by worshipping idols and not following thw laws. Also , the gentiles , i.e , non-Jews ( the Israelites then were all Jews ) , could not be saved , since they cannot follow the many rules of the law such as circumsision after 8 days because they dont know the law. So , in order to save all people of the world , a human had to be born who was 100% sinless and he was to sacrifice himself to save us , because the life of the flesh is blood , and by sacrificing someone by death, we offer blood to God which means we offer one life to God so that all lives may be saved. Its also said in the Bible in John that it is better for one man to die than the entire mankind to perish. Thats why God sent Jesus Christ His Son ( who is basically equal with God in every aspect ) , in human body to die and suffer the death on the cross in place of us. He sent His Son because we cannot be sinless since we have broken the law and are descendants of sinners. So that's why God or Jesus who is sinless became man ( because if He didnt become man , He would not be able to die as God/Spirit cannot die ) to die on the cross bearing all our sins on Himself so that by believing in Him , His death and His burial and Resurrection , we can be cleansed of all unrighteousness and sin and we will be born-again i.e sanctified. If we do not believe in Jesus , we reject God and hence we receive eternal damnation and suffering and burning in hell as a fruit of our choice. God loved us so much and even does now , that so that we may not suffer, He Sent His only Son to bear that suffering and sin in place of us so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
