Great video but need to know HOW to select these thing's as i can't click on individual dots just 1 at a time?

The first thing I would check is that you are in “edit mode”. By default, Blender starts in “Object Mode” and you have to hit Tab to enter edit mode. This should allow you to left click on the dot, or vertex to select it. There should also be a dropdown in the upper left corner of the screen where you can swap between Object and Edit mode. If there are multiple dots on top of each other, each left click will select a different one of the overlapping dots.
