This is a work of (martial) art! You are a creative master of kata.

Exceptional! I loved the kata bunkai series, I'm loving the drill series more. Initially coming from JKD, my training has always been geared around drills, so these are right up my alley.

Oss 🥋🥋🥋

@@jestfullgremblim8002 I was looking into synapses before my car got stolen. It is neurons communicating. Then the research turned into looking at how katas can make the brain wake up. Adults have to restore lights to dim lit areas of the brain katas can help. Then the research turned into what are some forms we can prescribe to get a desired awake effect? A prescription can be any form or kata. The brain will transform when some parts don't work what katas or forms will aid correct transformation?

@@jestfullgremblim8002 I was looking into synapses. Neuron communication as it relates to doing katas and forms. Before my car got stolen, I had more than one thousand pion shodan katas practiced in twenty four hours using tally marks I counted on paper stored in that car. The research turned into restoring lights to the brain. Then became what katas and forms restore the lights to the brain. Lastly, some parts of the brain will transform when the brain has damaged parts, katas and forms could aid in transforming the brain.

But what about the jump. Why jump? I have yet to see a satisfactory bunkai that explains the jump.
@practicalkatabunkai2 жыл бұрын
Not all styles jump. There are some that just turn, keeping the left foot on the floor, and then lift and drop the right foot. The jump seems to be a part of the overlaying of athletic considerations as part of the Meiji restoration’s impact on the martial arts i.e. an emphasis on producing fit young recruits for mandatory military service to support the expansion / modernisation of Japan’s military. It’s similar to how stances were made deeper, kicks higher, etc. When it comes to the bunkai, then I feel we should look to the older lift and drop, as opposed to the modern leap.
