We have “Tell Me Something Good” time where kiddos can quickly tell me (and their classmates) something good. It usually takes less than 5 min, and they LOVE it!

We do that in childrens church but it would be cute at school! Although we would not have time for everyone to share…

Love your videos Becca! I've got a video idea (not sure if you've covered this topic), but what are some things you like to do when you need a sub? Simple lessons even a nonmusician sub can do.

I don’t have a video because the honest answer is books and worksheets

+Becca's Music Room Becca, The next time your admin says that everyone loves Miss Davis tell them that you are living proof of why relationships must matter more than curriculums. In fact EVERY TEACHER regardless if they are specials or not should put relationships first before curriculums EVERY Day. It should be a school wide standard. To put it in another way, you step into their world and open yourself up to their world and even after you may end up having to make the students doing something or certain things that do not work with them and may set off some anger or rejection or any of those " bad behaviors " on a normal scale depending on if the student is just being kicked out of the house to school because the adult(s) of the house wants to hog the house from the children that they created or if the only time that the student is given to see their friends is at school or if someone else is doing something that annoys them when the pressure is off they will come around to you. Thank God that you get the picture. - Dwight

Yes! They like me because I am happy to see them, and care about them as humans. They don’t all get that
