I've never tried one of your Trading Fours vids. It was fun to just breathe and play first of all, and then I really had to pull out some unexpected ideas instead of my usual bag of tricks, and then I started really enjoying hearing your ideas. I think a good way to help keep drummers from getting lost while trying weirder solo phrasing would be to slowly start to open the hats starting on the third measure of the groove as a sort of reminder to the soloer that the phrase is ending. Just a thought/suggestion, hope it makes sense!
