I’m looking forward to being able to play professionally, especially The Nutcracker. I played Handel’s Messiah 3 times in the last 2 weeks, so that was fun. Sleigh Ride is always fun, I’ve played it umpteen times and not sick of it yet.

I don’t ever get tired of Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival. The quintessential Christmas piece! Sleighride is good too. New (to me) Xmas band piece this year is Minor Alterations, Christmas Through the Looking Glass (all the Xmas tunes changed to minor keys) lol, fun! Merry Christmas! Love your vlogmas posts!

I love Sandy Kipp-Iles' Nutcracker etudes book - it is well thought out. Sadly, Sandy recently passed and she was a wonderful flutist and human being. My favorite Christmas music is none other than the Nutcracker!

I'd do the same if I could...but in pale apple green. 💚 Christmas decor? I love decorating for Christmas in bright aquas and apple green. They are my pine green and red. Oh, and the holiday songs that have the word "Christmas" or "New Year's Eve" in it, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the holiday itself, and usually are about a break up, a revenge, simply feeling miserable, and etc. Every last one of those, I wish I would never hear again, no matter the time time of year.

It was really fun listening to you geek out over the whole dancer side of playing stuff from the Nutcracker. I think it's pretty cool that you get to play the stuff the dancers dance to, AND you have memories of dancing it yourself. The all-pink room seems a little extreme though. Isn't that the same shade of pink as Pepto Bismol?

I love all Xmas songs and could never tire of them, with the exception, for some reason, of Last Christmas. I think it’s from Glee. I just don’t like it very much. It’s kind of depressing too, I think. I love to decorate in all white, a white winter wonderland. I think it’s because I’m from southern CA and we never get snow. And of course all things sparkly are fantastic at Xmas. Love the Xmas vlogs and the coziness. And of course the beautiful flute playing.

Merry Christmas, Katie! Where did you find the pink ceramic Christmas trees? I have a whimsical skinny ceramic tree (in green) on my mantel. This year I added twinkling colored lights over the mantel (from Target). My mother had a traditional white ceramic tree that her daughter-in-law made. I don't know what happened to it. 😥
