@@xavierb9061 you're not making sense here buddy, Engines also lose games to a stronger engine. If you'll see human games from an engines perspective, 99% of human games are just loser played extremely badly. Therefore, this is all just perspective and if you think a 2600 caliber player played badly, then idk probably you're a really strong player. As I think he played a good game, he found Qf2 as well where pragg had to play the only move to win (I know the move was tempting, but only if you see the Bg4 mate).

It's correlated with confidence too. The N-h4 move which starts this incredible sequence is so counterintuitive, that someone less sure of themselves wouldn't have even mapped out the lines 10-15 moves out, because the material loss could feel like too much. Pragg trusted his intuition to explore it to the fullest, find this magical continuation and play out this masterpiece. Lesser mortals like us occasionally have such intuition, but likely succumb to fear very soon after.

This is why chess is so fascinating: how many moves in a row was winning the exchange not Pragg's best move? And then when it meant an apparent queen sac, that's when he finally takes the rook, because now that's the best move.

I remember watching a Chess With Suren video about 5 or so years ago when Praggnanandhaa hit something like 2544 and got his GM Title, I've been inspired by him ever since. Though he has been leading the charge for young Indian players, I think he should be viewed in the same light as someone like Alireza: A player with serious contention for World Champion Title. Players like Arjun and Gukesh are absolutely wonderful and I wish them the best, but I really hope Pragg takes it all the way and does what only Vishwanathan Anand could before him!

@@talphazero1036Gukesh just became World no. 9 and also recently broke carlson's record for being the youngest to cross 2750. Also he is India no. 1 now and Anand is no. 2. Gukesh gets a bit less recognition than he deserves. Gukesh had crossed 2600 1 and half years after pragg and nihal and yet he is ahead of them though I can see why people seem to see more potential in pragg and nihal. They have been playing against top players for quite some time now.

@talphazero1036
@talphazero1036 9 ай бұрын
@@morgoth8815 That is all correct. Gukesh has been on a wonder run lately, but let us not be so quick. Alireza once gained up to or more than 100 points in a year and crashed into the 2800 club, even went to the Candidates. But what happened after that? He's still a beast of a player, but all that momentum is GONE. It's not hard for a top talent to overperform in multiple tournaments and overheat from achieving too early. I pray that is not the case for Gukesh and my bias towards Pragg doesn't lead you to think he is not worthy of his achievements, but consistency is key over numbers. Pragg has not performed any miracles yet, but his consistency is something I am willing to beat on over a top 9 spot. The year is only halfway done. We will see what is left from the Chess World and hopefully all these young talents are still performing as well as we have seen them doing

If this is not an immortal it still part of a special class of game. A lot of chess games I can at least comprehend how one might find a series of moves. Some games you see a true master find moves and ideas that aren't just clever, but which speak to a deeper and more layered understanding of the game than a mere mortal will ever find. This was one of those games (for me at least).

Pragg energizes the Cozio defense! Agad was right - just masterfully calculated. This defence often comes with a finachetto of black's KB in many instances. It's kind of crampy in that regard because white gets a strong early initiative in the center. How black develops that bishop is the key. It'll be interesting to see if Pragg starts weaponizing the Cozio going forward. He's obviously been exploring some very unique ideas with it in his studies. Brilliant game!
