If i was a betting man i would bet on vidit butchering a winning game. Free money for me and free elo for opponent. Its not a skill or talent issue but purely nerves and confidence against strong opponents. He has the potential to be in the 2750 elite group but he needs to get his mental act together.

His time management is quite horrible. Like you said, I hope he gets his act together; He will certainly be a tough opponent to beat then.

The way he lost to Nepo in candidates is something which still disgusts me, probably only he could have lost that game, and that game is kind of similar to the way he has lost this game. He doesn't know when to stop based on his limits and take the draw when he puts himself under so much time pressure.

It's Vidit. I'm sure he atleast has 10 other games where he squandered the win against top top players, after playing brilliantly in the whole game. He just lacks the edge to finish the games imo. Otherwise, he's pretty aggressive and strong and creates imbalances in the position regularly.

In every game, Vidit spends 30-45 minutes calculating the better of two lines (with 0.001 % difference) and then is forced to make 15 moves in 15 seconds towards the end. Its impossible to not blunder in such scenarios.
