Very boring commentary, got me sleepy as perhaps Sagar himself was when recording this video. Plus showing all sorts of possible moves and then reverting everything fast gets very confusing. Sagar does this even when commenting in the background of analysis when the players are moving. Which confuses if this is actually what the player played or Sagar's analysis going on

Our players though talented lack positional sense and methodical endgame skills of European players. I assume they study classical games before venturing into software/puzzles/coaching.
@meshrath

Currently we have 4 players in the top 11. Of them one is going to play for the world championship and stands a good chance of winning it too. One is a 5 times world champion. The other two are insanely talented and probable future world champions. They wont have come this far if they lacked positional sense or endgame skills.
@alekhinesgun9997
@alekhinesgun9997 3 ай бұрын
@@meshrath Missed the whole "of European players" part. They come from a different school of chess than europeans/Russians who focus heavily on the classics and endgames. This is not a knock on their talent. They can be top 10 players and still have weaknesses in their play.
@meshrath
@meshrath 3 ай бұрын
@@alekhinesgun9997 Didn't know there was an Indian school of chess! Well anyway, they must be extraordinarily talented to become WC level without knowing the classics and endgames. Oh and take away the middle game too, that's where positional play abounds. So again, they are talented to have reached this far with openings only.

@meshrath you are not getting his point. Everyone has weakness. Magnus is not that good at openings. Maybe he doesn't do crazy prep like Indian kids now. But it is his relative weakness. Current Indian kids definitely have bit of weakness in end game. You can look at where they struggle the most in losses. Pragg is probably the most skillful at end game and is fairly intuitive but even he sometimes struggles at end game. They are way way above us(the hobby players) but you can still analyze their playstyles and understand their strengths and weaknesses.
