According to Wikipedia, rook and bishop pawns are irrelevant in the fianchetto setup: Fianchetto is a pattern of development where a bishop is developed to the second rank of the adjacent b- or g-file, after moving the knight pawn one or two squares forward.

You know, since Levy's uprise, many of Agad's viewers seem to have moved over to levy because of his enthusiasm and sarcasm in his video delivery. But, one thing that remains special about Agad's videos is how much depth he goes into in his videos. Sometimes levy just fast forwards over entire games.

No hate to any other channel, but Antonio was here creating chess content before the lockdown related internet chess trend began. Agadmator’s Chess Channel is a rare gem. Beyond imitation. The only gimmicks here, if any, are the meta humor jokes that only consistent viewers understand like B4 is the best move in any position. Thanks for your comment. See you at your local bar or library.

WONDERFUL. I was looking at Bxf6, or Bxh7, since those are "the moves I have just been talking about"; or Qxf6 since a queen sacrifice is always the subject of excitement... and you reveal b4. Of course. Well done, Agad; as so often, we are humbled by your simple but totally effective misdirection.
@jmadventures98305 ай бұрын
winter_war in chess do you need to have the abc pawns alive for it to be a fianchetto, cause in the game the c pawn was missing and the guy moved his b pawn one square up to b3 you know, in preparation for the fianchetto but I was all like, hey man, is it even a fianchetto if the c pawn is already gone? what do you think chatty ? ChatGPT In chess, a fianchetto refers to a specific pawn structure where a bishop is developed to the second rank on the b or g files, supported by pawns. The classic fianchetto setup typically involves moving the b or g pawn one square forward (to b3 or g3 for White, and b6 or g6 for Black), and then placing the bishop on the long diagonal (b2 or g2 for White, and b7 or g7 for Black). The c-pawn is not a strict requirement for a fianchetto. While the c-pawn (or f-pawn for a kingside fianchetto) is often still on the board in many typical fianchetto positions, its absence does not invalidate the fianchetto structure. The key elements are the pawn move to b3 (or g3) and the subsequent development of the bishop to b2 (or g2). So, even if the c-pawn is missing, as long as the b-pawn is advanced and the bishop is placed on the long diagonal, it is still considered a fianchetto.

Greetings Antonio. Borrow part of Mato Jelic presentation; In that he used to build anticipation to the "critical moment" of the game, where it is either won or lost. In this game, I believe Anish was lost, the minute he decided to enter an endgame with rook and bishop against 2 rooks, (see 9:54 where black bishop takes knight on f5) because the pawn structure did not favor it and it seems most people forget that the king can be a critical part of an endgame attack
@Dan-dg9pi5 ай бұрын
Great analysis of a fascinating game that had it all: blunders, tactics, interesting endgame, and of course, b4!
@PartySnacks25 ай бұрын
@agadmator: To answer your question, the fianchetto is moving the bishop to knight pawn, so it doesn’t matter is your c pawn is already advanced. It’s still called that. See for example, Rubinstein-Nimzowitsch match in Marienbad, 1925, where four bishops were considered fianchettoed even when the c pawn had been pushed. I am happy to send you that game as a #suggestion of you need it. Not sure if spam filter will screen out websites.

Antonio, surely the bishop is fianchettoed whether or not there is a pawn on the second rank next to it. Who would deny that the mighty Leningrad Dutch bishop is fianchettoed? The alternative development of the bishop along the f1 - a6 diagonal (for the white white-square bishop) is 'classical' as in the Ruy Lopez.

UFC Pereira is a killer. He has knocked people out with his left hand, right hand, left foot and right foot. He is the champ in 2 UFC weight divisions and may step up to get a record third belt at heavy weight. Before UFC he was demolishing people in K2 where he was world champion. They call him hands of stone and when you see him hit opponents you will see how appropriate the nickname is. He has destroyed all the strong opposition in his weight class and I think he will be hard to beat. He lost to Adesanya who he had previously beat twice. The only reason he lost that fight is got a little too reckless in a fight and round he was dominating.
