The Charity Cup is the 2nd of 9 events on the $1.6 million 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and takes place on chess24 from March 19-26. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tops the 16-player field, which will be cut in half by the 4-day round-robin Prelims. The total prize fund is $150,000, with $750 for a win and $250 for a draw in the Prelims. The quarterfinals and semi-finals are 1-day, 4-game matches, while the final will feature two such matches over two days.
The players have 15 minutes for all their moves, plus a 10-second increment starting from move 1. In the Prelims there are 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. If a tiebreak is required the players will play two 5+3 games and then, if needed, a single Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: chess24.com/tour

I am probably not among the top 10000 chess players in India. I have a 3-0 record in lichess against the top player in cameroon who is not even 2100. I hope you stay the course to help.develop chess in your country. In india it took multiple generations of effort to get the first GM. We also ignore nowadays the relation between Indian leftists and the USSR which is why the first Indian GMs are from Tamil Nadu and Bengal. It will take time but your country can get there.

I think the idea, and I’m not going to claim that I can come close to analysing this level of chess, Is that you want to build advantages based on what the board tells you. At a beginner level which is also me, we tend to look for tactics. On amateur level to IM chess level, you look for positional advantage based on imbalances I.e. maximising your advantages before your opponent can do the same and minimising what your opponent has before they do the same to you as well as a pretty good knowledge on endgame. This is because if you have a good position tactics will naturally follow. And at GM, there’s all of that but a better and a seamless connection between those concepts and Endgame and a level of mastery that allows you break rules at times. In my opinion Carlson is just the best reader of the board in the world right now. That language is what I define as strong.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else. So in Today's pause the moment, i figured out the exact combination of moves in like 2-3minutes, but am pretty sure if I were playing the same position in a tournament, I probably would'nt have noticed. Only after Agad tells me, there is a brilliant move, to fimd, I'm tuning my brain to "find" it. Otherwise, I would have been playing a more usual move i suppose. So I'm only looking for stuff if someone tells there seems to be a grat move in this position.
