Hi Valery and Vaclav, Thanks a lot for your informative videos. I have been watching them for the last 4 weeks to get familiar with Prague sights and now feel like I will be very comfortable and confident in my scheduled visit to Prague next week. As a big Kafka fan, this one was a bonus. Thanks again. Cheers.

One could perhaps say that Kafka was an Austrian, insofar as he was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Bohemia was under Austrian administration. After the war, however, he would have been a citizen of Czechoslovakia, so the confusion remains.... The video was quite extensive and very interesting, but there was no mention of the Franz Kafka Museum (in Malá Strana), possibly because the building has no connection to Kafka's daily life (?). There is also an even more interesting sculpture by David Černý outside the museum.

In reading the Metamorphosis in school, I thought he was really turning into a cockroach. I was heavy into science fiction and as I was reading, I was getting impatient for the story to explain how he was turning into a cockroach. 🤔

Jaroslav Róna said in one of the interviews, that he made Kafka´s monument so robust, because the statue must be resistant against tourist´s touches and vandalism.
