Then again he could probably feed the bamboo shoots to some of the animals. It's also a question of what kind of bamboo it is, how tall it grows and how much it spreads. If he gets a type that is more sensitive to cold, it will be a lot more managable (since it seems like Texas does get some cold weeks,)

@@TsunamiKitten56 did you read my comment explaining why? Or the dozens of other comments from people explaining why? Or did you just read the one part about native plants and decide to write that comment? 😂 He fundraises for a lot of stuff. I would be happy to donate towards that. And he may also consider taking cuttings from the trees on his property, asking around for free saplings (I see them on Nextdoor a lot), or asking local colleges about native plant sales...at least in my area they do a sale in early spring and the plants are super cheap. It will be less work and less money than he would have to put in for eventually removing an invasive species of plant that gets out of control.

Bamboo really isn't that bad someone has been growing it around my neighborhood for like 15 years and it is still only in their yard
@DugongClock
@DugongClock 2 жыл бұрын
@@rogermalpass5278 I've spent multiple summers removing invasive bamboo forests from my local parks and forests, where they are literally eliminating native ecosystems, flora and fauna in all. Where the bamboo shoots thrive, everything else dies. Dozens of people volunteer I directly know in my community regularly contribute to removing the crises of invasive species, as they are quite literally devastating land as we speed at a depressingly high rate, and no one is being paid to do a single thing about it. Bamboo is a nightmare to remove, and since nothing eats it outside its native environment, it isn't going anywhere. Their deep, thick root systems, strength, seed spread, and record breaking growth speed is almost unstoppable. There is no "non-invasive" bamboo if you are not in Asian, there is clumping and spreading, which are two different kinds of bad. If you think that those bamboo seeds have gone nowhere in 15 years, you don't understand how seed spreading works or you live in a concrete sea.

Before you make an awesome bamboo wall... I'd like to offer my experience with it here. Bamboo has some pros and cons to consider. Hopefully this helps you make an informed decision: Try to prepare yourself mentally for the fact that you will constantly be fighting the menace of a very very VERY rapidly growing grass, that spreads away from itself underground, like wildfire. It will eventually become the bane of your existence in terms of yard maintenance... A small cluster of decorative yard bamboo is usually the most high maintenance thing in a yard, let alone a whole bunch of it in the circumference of your property. It's great. Its beautiful. But I can't emphasize enough how much this stuff grows compared to bushes and other alternatives. (Even among the slower growing varieties!) -- There's a reason why its basically free to acquire. On the plus side, it'll be great for having a lot of firepit/charcoal material if you need a constant source of material to burn for whatever reason! But know that this stuff piles up like nobody's business if its just a larger yard cluster let alone a long wall of it. If you don't already have a plan for using it, there's nothing to do with it other than have a (further) labor intensive burn pile every other week, or getting it to the dump. Or construct furniture or something with it, I'm not your mother. lol Scenario 1: If you do end up deciding your fate, eternally fighting the insidious magic jungle that will be encroaching on the rest of your land until all sanity and patience is lost and it has to be eradicated: (SAFETY NOTICE) Please remember that bamboo grows in airtight sections. Split or crack open the individual cell sections before burning any of it, or you will suddenly have high pressure woody shrapnel spraying every which way. If that doesn't start a fire in your yard...your property will also be full of big sharp chunk splinters that your fauna fam will find before you do. :( Bamboo shrapnel is no joke... Please be safe my dude. ✌ The (cursed)enchanted jungle bites back. Scenario 2: If you do end up planting bamboo just around the front/parking area: Its way easier to manage the outward growth of bamboo if the long rows are planted in a sufficiently elevated bed. It does look awesome and eyecatching, and you'll get real familiar with a machete! If you end up putting in some sort of privacy bushes around the property: Many of them can grow pretty tall and dense if pruned properly during the initial growth of that height you're looking for. Go for it! Just don't let them overgrow too widely, not even once, or the central trunk will get too big and your bush won't look pretty anymore because its a half bare tree now woops. There goes the sound dampening. Will have to dig it out and start over. Landscaped yards are wonderful, but they do require consistent labor to maintain. Choose the option that won't degrade what sanity you have left. Crack home reno looks great. Good luck my dude!

We've got a pretty large animal auction at Root's market in Manheim, PA as well. It's mostly just birds and bunnies, but occasionally you can find some larger animals as well. I've never really liked the idea but it's a really old tradition and the revenue is essential for the upkeep of the market grounds.

Love how prepared you were to kidnap that dog lol Always give your dog a collar lest a good person like him tries to take it without knowing it is actually owned and safe.

We never put collars on our dogs, they are itchy and irritating for them and the can get caught on brush and sticks, and if they go in a river and get caught on a branch sticking out of the water its not a good deal. If you live in the city sure put a collar on them but out here in the country its dangerous to put a collar on dogs.

Honestly, I have no care for the Fortnite and other gamer references. But it’s amazing how you have totally changed the acreage. Your land is completely turning into a farm. A good running one at that. It is really fun to see the new projects happening, and all the animals. Also had no idea why people would ever get groundhogs, but after seeing Big ounce, they are really super cute.

His sense of humor is intentionally distasteful, actually, so you're the target audience lol His humor is essentially making fun of very unfunny things by shamelessly referencing it in scenarios where you wouldn't expect it. He makes his channel seems like one of the cringe channels for KZbin Kids, but it's actually just an educational video about rescue animals. It's definitely an odd style but it works.

As it has been said before here, Bamboo will never leave if you decide you dont like it and it takes alot of work to maintain with how quickly it grows. I would reccomend a native climbing plant along side a fence, I know you can get the bamboo for free but its going to cost you either alot of time or your money down the road, you could get berry bushes or places for birds to nest out of climbers.

Be really careful with bamboo it very very hard to contain so if u want you should dig put tarp In it and then plant them, you should isolate the bamboo from the rest of your garden or they will be an bamboo invasion

So your worm farm was Black soldiers flies! They aren’t dead just the mature ones went into a pupae phase in their lives. You’ll have some BSF flying around your farm when it warms up! And that’s a good thing!! They are very beneficial to a farm!! I’d recommend doing some research and you’ll be surprised!
