Very true and well said , as someone who is lucky to get it month ago and driven 1000 km I can confidently say it's totally a hands free car , for prospective buyers please go through real owner opinion than lots of you tubers giving negative comments , it's back seat space not any worse than competition , it's got auto head lights , auto wipers , auto dimming headlight adaptive cruise , lane keep , EMG brake the listing goes on , but critics talk of manual irvm , but why one needs auto irvm when you have to adjust only once when darkness starts , ventilated seats if prolonged use will make your back stiff , I felt the traction control was amazing , dynamic guidelines of 360 camera so excellent I reverse , park turn with out looking outside , all visitors to my car were speachless after i opened the sun shade , only thing they have to improve is listening capacity of the ai chatbot , sorry I am long , thanks for the space

You are completely right! Also the car reviewers miss out to talk about the goods and only focus on the bads! I don't like it at all! I agree that AI Robot is bit slow but frankly speaking i only use it when someone sitting beside me asks what is it ! Helpful video. How are your views on the sunroof? Is it worthy specially when it could get difficult to clean as compared to the rest of the car on a daily basis, and then the view might not be as good as you would imagine. How do you find the space for the left leg, does it touch the center console or to any of the levers?

Thank you for appreciating! Surely I will reply to all your questions! 1. Sunroof looks nice(i guess that's the main features of sunroof except from giving more airy look to the cabin) 2. If someday the sunroof is dirty i would use the shade to hide that 🤭. The view is generally for people sitting at the back seat! 3. Space in left is sufficient it's not too deep like sedan but it's good enough not to make you feel uncomfortable. 4. The quality of the cabin is where MG has really worked upon and that is giving a tough time to competition! The extra leather added everywhere feel premium .

There was a bolt which had to be tightened and the issue was resolved! Panoramic sunroof adds beauty to the cabin of the car! I think unless the weather is very good or you are driving on hills, you won't open them! So not opening them would result in less wear and tear! Just the sunshade will be opened and closed on a regular basis! A car with sunroof is tested extra for water leakage issue and motor issues so be rest assured that in general there will not be any issue!

Yes.. You will miss a lot, if you are not going for Adas. I have already covered 2700 Km in one month time. It's really fun to drive on highways. Absolutely no fatigue, while on driving. Hi thanks for writing! I don't think that the sunshade or the sunroof is creating any issue due to its opacity! The same cloth is used in glostor also and had it been creating any issue, then mg would have not introduced in Astor!

1. No the back seats are not bad in any sense! It's just that it's not going to be giving you a Innova like feel that's what j meant to say in the video 😀😊 2. Yes the AC of this vehicle is very good!! 3. The music quality is good but not great! I feel mg should have put better speakers in top model! 4. The lag is there is all CVT engines! If you are en enthusiast you won't like the CVT but if you are easy going person who has a family too you won't miss anything! CVT has an advantage of mileage

Hi, So glad you commented! 1. If you have any doubts about Astor for not lasting for 6-7 years , i would suggest you to take 5 years service package which is for 27-28 thousand! In such a case you will have a peace of mind for 6 years and i am sure 1 year more things will be good only! 2. The AUTONOMOUS Level 2 in Astor is not a market gimmick but it comes at a cost which is 70000/- If your budget doesn't allow the same then the situation is different but if you are of to a confusion that will is it really worth it? I would say yes ! Those features in savvy are amazing!

I will tell you the exact situation - I generally go for work by 9:45 And then return at 4:30 In the peak of the hotness i am sitting in office and i am sure many of us are like that only! Next thing - i do get work to go out and when such a situation arise - i turn the car ac on for atleast 5 mins! By the time i reach the car the cabin is cooler!

So i always like to buy the top model of any car which have all the features so that it doesn't feel outdated after few years! If mg showroom near your place you can buy MG. creta has better resale value if you plan to sell this car in 3-4 years Astor has great looks and good ride quality. Mileage is almost same.. A lot depends on how you drive!

If you are an enthusiat who liked driving then 1.3 is for you! You won't feel satisfied with CVT! Talking about the ground clearance!- i would say it's enough to keep you safe on the worst roads . I think you should go for 1.3

Go for MG Astor Turbo variant as CVT may not give you the fun factor / push needed to create excitement ideal for long drive and hills drive. Upgrade from CVT to Turbo is worth every penny spent. I have driven both for long drive and difference is huge if you are looking for that punch which enhances the driving experience. Agar apko only city driving then go for CVT else dont make mistake of going for CVT. Go for Turbo and enjoy the punch and ride in both City and Highways and hills. Good luck.

Yes the MG shield plan covers the service cost! In general the labour charges are free for 3 services 1- 1000kms (0 cost) 2-5000kms (0 cost) 3-10000kms (oil and filter has to be changed)

Sunroof glass is already tinted inorder to keep the inside cabin cooler! If in summers i feel that it's going worse then i will get 3m film installed. But i highly doubt that because creta and so many other cars come with this panoramic sunroof! Maintenance - you can take 27000 for 5 years Mileage - a lot depends on how you drive! People are getting 18-19 too Brand name- HECTOR has helped Mg to gain lot of trust! Mg has proved itself well! Unless Astor is tested by GNCAP, you can't be certain about its safety. For example consider Seltos, it got good safety rating in other countries because they used different materials for Non-Indian variants. We don't know if MG is not doing the same for cost cutting.

Hi, My 1.5 CVT Astor Smart Variant is giving me very less mileage. I am keeping my vehicle under 2000 rpm while driving but even after that, I am getting 7-8 Kmpl mileage . Distance to empty showing on my car in full tank is 350 KM. Please help me with the issue.

Don't worry about the full tank display as it shows data through your accumulated info. You need to ignore that distant to empty thing If you are on highway it will show more and in city it will show less If you start from City to highway it will only increase if you reset accumulated info

I would say No! And the reason behind this is that it's a very successful model in international market and it's a tested engine! Alcazar is not a bad car but people buying 6 seater are less and the power in the vehicle feels less! You need better engine for such a big vehicle!

I agree with you. Mujhe ek crossover jaisi hi gaadi chahiye thi kyuki in comparison to any SUV ye bahut planted lagti hai. Suspension setup bhi badhiya hai. 120 ki speed me gaadi bahut planted lagti hai. Aur gaadi ki driving capability bhi badhia hai. Aur car safe bhi feel hoti hai😄. Aur sedan jaisa comfort level to hai hi iska ham bihar to gujrat round trip me bilkul nahi thake. 26 hours straight laute not tiredness. Aur gaadi bahut badhia hai. Mujhe initially lagta tha XUV 700 le leni chahiye thi but waiting period 1 saal cross kar gaya tha tab tak. But after experiencing for 3 months it I can proudly say that one will ever hai any regret after buying this car. Bahut badhia gaadi hai ye👏

What about Mileage of CVT? So many blogs and comments have mentioned it is not able to fetch more than 7 kmpl, that too for light riders (below 2k RPM). So what is wrong?

I saw a blog of a guy who lives in an area of Delhi where he was able to get average speed of 15 on his car!(i ride my cycle at an average speed of 25-just for reference) In such a condition mileage will get low no matter which car is bought! Secondly there are guys who check mileage for 10 kms/20kms and give that opinion! Mileage should be checked tank to tank or atleast 25-30 liters of petrol should be used. On any route we get bad traffic and good traffic - that compensates the mileage! Just by checking one short trip mileage is incorrect! I know CVT owners who are getting 12-13 in city Even i am getting 10-11 in city (fyi i keep car on and sit in ac a lot of times) I also get 8 sometimes but then it does gets compensated on good roads This is what I have to say about all the things circulating! Even the Creta guys are getting 7/8 (the only thing is that we don't know them) Only diesel powered vehicles are able to give good mileage in all conditions

I have an Amaze CVT 1.2, with a mileage of 12 (as per Odometer) I have to drive in BLR, where the avg speed has dropped to as low as 12 kmph. I have booked Astor Smart CVT, but somehow I am wondering if I should explore Kushaq. Did you take MG Shield? If yes, then what package? Is it worth the money?

Yeah people do Focus on mileage too much! The new Honda city will be good for mileage focused people... Kushaq is also good! If you like the design Handling is better in Kushaq but only if you choose 1.5 The MG SHIELD is good! But only the classic one for 5 years which is approx 27000/-

(Similar to Accord Hybrid when it came long back) Kushaq resembles the SUV models, being the squarish shape and boxed structure. But on seeing it on road, MG Astor looks more promising and more premium. 1.5 in Kushaq will overshoot the budget, and I do not think the mileage for 1.5 Kushaq would be that significantly higher! I took a long test drive of the Savvy CVT yesterday after the dealer told me that the car has been allotted to me so I thought it would be good to make one final attempt before putting down the money. I was at times distracted by the ADAS features due to the warnings and sudden attempt to brake, so I’m not sure if they are useful in the city. Can you let me know your opinion? Also, can ADAS be turned off? To be honest I went for Savvy variant only because of the sangria red colour since the ivory one doesn’t look good at all to me. For others I felt the power in CVT is less in the beginning but then I got hold of it. Coming from a manual car you need to get used to the behaviour of a CVT gearbox. My wife who used to drive automatic cars outside of India earlier was quite comfortable in terms of power.

ADAS is not suitable for Indian Roads especially in crowded streets where even a cycle rikshaw/ cattle will confuse ADAS. Features are good to have but things like Driving Dynamics, Seat Comfort, long term reliability, suspension setup, safety should be the key aspect while selecting a car.

You definitely need to check my videos! I have tried ADAS in Indian conditions! They have proved to be good! Astor being a Drivers car has very good seat comfort in the front specially It's non boxy design helps it maintain good stability at high speed unlike other competitors! Talking about long term reliability- the car is in non Indian markets since 2017. Creta didn't become successful in a day! For every wrong term reliability the car need to stay in market and for that we need to give some room! The car suspension is not BAD in any sense! And definitely the car is safer than Seltos and Creta!

My 2021 Finalized Choice was Jeep Compass Sport (Base Version) but the girls in the house made me to book CVT SAVY (for Panoramic Sunroof, Red Interior, Ride Quantity and that Astor robot) Daily I am thinking about the decision & doing so many research on its origin. Like you mentioned Its a hot selling Compact SUV in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Thailand markets. Before booking this these are my choices apart from Jeep Compass 1. Mahindra Thar (Due to Unavoidable Circumstances I am married and having 4 Year old daughter those two creatures insisted me buy car for family not for me ). 2. Seltos and Creta you can feel the quality by closing the doors. 3. Kushaq - Felt some thing Missing on it & of course EPC and Cabin noise issues reported by owners - No offence Skoda is my all time favorite brand after Mahindra. 4. Taigun - I am all good with GT 1.5 but again these two bugged me to book a car with Panoramic sunroof. Literally MG Astor was not my list but some how I am here and waiting for Q1 2022 delivery. Prakash Paradise - Seen all your MG Astor videos good work buddy to be frank I don't know Hindi but some how understanding your feelings and experience with Astor.

Well honestly speaking people who are happy with the car don't really plan to make vidoes about good experience but when there is some issue then all the ideas come in mind ! My brother has a Hector too! He hasn't faced any issue ! Also when there was an issue MG resolved it in a service! I don't think MG is a bad brand also since they are investing so much they would definitely not like to do anything stupid ! Astor is a good vehicle ... It's success can be seen in the international market! I think you shouldn't worry about it!
