Hidden cameras back then were much more elaborate. I think they also pulled a similar prank on Jiwon except instead of killing another member, he thought Sunghoon was in a river filled with something like piranhas (?) or just some water animals that can bite, I'm not sure as the video had no English subtitles, and you could tell he was taken aback by the situation and even lost his temper at one point by yelling at the person who was supposed to rescue Sunghoon for doing a terrible job. We can just breathe that atleast now the pranks' intensity have gone down a notch.

I agree. Sunghoon talked about it after the group got back together. He said he thought of Jiwon as a brother, and he felt he had killed his brother. He didn't speak to his members on the bus ride home.

True. Poor Sunghoon, he must have been terrified. A lot of these Sechskies pranks have really proven the level of their friendship though. Not saying they're a good thing but I saw a video of Jiwon getting pranked and thinking there was something like piranhas (?) in the water while Sunghoon was still inside the water tied up, and then he just swooped inside the water nonchalantly to save his friend despite the potential danger. Sechskies are always joking around on variety shows and acting mean to each other, but the reality is they actually do care about each other on a friend level rather than a coworker level and I just find it touching as a member of YellowKies.

the producers really should have thought the mission through and made them do something easier... lucas immediately told the staff in the room that hendery really would not be able to do it and told hendery to keep his blindfold on, and you could see how worried the other members were for hendery, too

I think some people have a misconception of what a phobia is. It's not just being scares, it's really being unable to function. The production team probably thought his phobia of frogs was the first, maybe Lucas too.

My family once pranked me by saying my dad had died, knowing it would break me since my mother died a few years ago, I screamed when they said he had died, I thought he really had died, almost leading to suicide since they did it for a few days, a month later after they had told me I stopped talking to them, and gained trust issues for everyone in my family, except my dad. It's honestly horrid to do this to a ten year old, it makes it worse that I haven't gotten over my mothers death yet.

Hendery's one made me cry. He even said earlier that he's scared of frogs. But Jackson's one was so heartbreaking. No one deserves to be treated like that. Edit: the thing is, Hendery even said it in an interview that he's really really scared of frogs. So the staff used it against him. Honestly the whole episode of dream plan was hard to watch after seeing Hendery suffer like that!! Also,Lucas was freaking out too. So I'm really thankful the other WayV members like Ten and Yangyang who volunteered to take Hendery and Lucas's spots in the challenge!! WayV honestly is a family Edit 2: ABOUT THE STAFF:_ the staff were actually had their heart in the right place but they fucked up bad. The show dream plan's morals were helping the members face their fears so that's why I think they did that for Hendery. But honestly doing something like that to someone who has such a big phobia of frogs was wrong!!! So after they realised their mistakes they let Hendery out and let Yangyang and ten take their place. The staff wanted good for hendery but execution was soo poor!!!!! I'm in no way defending them!!! I'm really upset about the whole situation.

the frog prank honestly made me so mad while i was watching it, he was obviously terrified and none of the members thought it was funny, they were all so worried and i hated watching every second of it. i think making members face their fears is good unless it’s a full on phobia that they aren’t able to even act for the camera during it. honestly i think companies should know where the line is for their groups and respect that they can’t cross it for entertainment purposes.

I agree. I have a really bad phobia of dogs and wouldn't stand being in a room like that even if the dogs were like in cages or on leashes. As someone who is scared of frogs or insects (and most animals. But not as bad as dogs) I would probably get an instant panic attack. The prank on Hendery wasn't even a prank, it was torture. Messing with someone's phobia is really bad, and messing with their extreme phobia is even worse. That prank could have ended badly, Hendery could have gone into a panic attack. Some people tend to forget that idols are humans too, they have feelings and phobias too. It really hurt me to see Hendery so scared and so desperate to get out there that he even climbed the wall. The prank was really cruel, I can't even imagine myself in a room full of spiders(my extreme phobia).

The staff probably think that his fear was simply him not liking them. Like i dont like being crawled on by insects but if someone can convince me that they are harmless i'll be fine. It's more discomfort than genuine fear. The same cannot be said for Hendery (or for you i guess). There's probably some kind of childhood trauma that affected him. Either way, joke/prank on someone's phobia is just plain out mean.

KyK yeah true. The aim of the Wayv show is to actually make them overcome their biggest fear and make them grow stronger mentally. So knowing that Hendery hates frogs, (not knowing that it’s a phobia), the staffs put him with frogs, trying to make him overcome it.

Thats what I told my friend. I have a phobia of spiders and my friend isn't so their was a tiny spider on the table and then I started jumping when I saw it and shaking. Seeing Hendery literally scared for his life made me so mad. Phobias are not a joke, of course it would be amazing to overcome them, but some people just can't do that. And that's supposed to be done in small steps, not by going into a room full of something you're scared of. I have an aquaphobia myself and just thinking about going into the water makes me feel dizzy. My phobia isn't *that* serious and I *can* get into the water, but I still avoid that as much as possible: I never go to swim, I don't travel by ships etc. It's bad enough for me not to be willing to try and overcome that fear. I don't even know where the phobia has come from, I've had it for about 6 years now and I feel like it's just getting worse. Also the last prank with Sechs Kies made me cry. I had never seen that one before and it got me shocked. That's just horrible, it's something the members are probably never going to forget. Small and simple pranks are ok at times, but pranking with death.. That's *always* unacceptable.

I can kinda relate to the frog phobia. I’m afraid of cockroaches and only cockroaches I’m okay with most bugs but not those I can’t imagine going into a room full of them and I’d probably faint or have a full on panic attack. Having pranks such as life or death situations are also horrible and disgusting. Idk who thought these pranks were good ideas and they are disgusting people for doing this. These pranks can give people trauma and even cause them to have panic attacks during these pranks. It’s horrible to scare people to tears and is completely disgusting. The only prank I can think of right now that’s okay was the mannequin one with SVT cause you can already tell that there was a prank happening and that those were fake so it was an okay prank. @Tetrikz I would say it’s a common thing , at least in Asian cultures. I’m not Korean but I am Asian. It’s really sad, but they seem to prefer a “tough it out” mentally rather than asking for help. If you’re depressed, they’ll tell you to just “shove it off” or “stop it, you’re over reacting”. If your spouse is abusing you, don’t divorce, don’t tell anyone, stay with them. Divorce is bad. If your nose is “ugly” you need plastic surgery even if you’re like just 10 years old. If these comments offend you, it’s only for “helpful advice” and it’s “funny” so don’t take it offensively. I guess for some of them struggling with mental illness or any kind of help is a weakness and it’s embarrassing to seek out help. I feel that type of attitude just makes things worse. “Overcoming your fears” is not the same as being forced to face your phobia. Making someone face their phobia, severe in this case, can cause a lot of distress, anxiety and panic attacks and I feel like it’s reaaaally not okay to do that for entertainment purposes. I don’t know if he agreed to it before or not but like... the only way it would be okay is if he was informed about it beforehand and was given the option not to do it. I have ophidiophobia, which is the phobia of snakes. (im also terrified of eels because of that too) And it seriously is so hard to fight it. Everytime I see one for a stupid science class video I cant watch, the last time I saw one irl was an anaconda in the aquarium. My dad had to take me back down to the lobby and sit with me for a long time with his service dog. God. Its so frustrating when people dont take your phobias seriously. She did know i also suffered with anxiety, so that might’ve helped her do that but I still think thats what needs to happen for everyone. im so sorry she made you do that. if it happens again, write a semi aggressive page long email explaining the science behind phobias and how you legitimately cannot deal with it. I really really felt bad for Hendery when I watch that episode. He was so pale the moment the staff gave Lucas and him a frog costume 'cause he probably figured what will happen. When he was interviewed he said he was thinking the producers aren't that cruel, right? But it still happened. When they got into the room full of frogs, Lucas really said that they really have gone too far, seeing Hendery so anxious like that. He is afraid of frogs as well. In the next episode, Winwin had to do bungee jumping on the spot even though he fears heights. He couldn't let his hand off of the railing before jumping that's how terrified he was and obviously his body stiffened. He even jumped alone.

Maybe u shd watch that episode before saying. It was a reminder to her. Because before the doctor left the room, he handed her a black file. The moment the black file was opened, the prank was revealed. In the file, the document said, "That was dark, wasn't it. Well, do you remember what you filled up when u did the medical checkup? You wrote that you work 12 hours a day and only sleep 6 hours a day. Based on how you're living, your life expectancy is 62 years. HOWEVER, out of those years, only 3 months will be spent with your family." That's when she further broke down. This whole show was about making celebrities form stronger bonds with their family. It was never to hurt her. Which is why the next episode is about her trying to manage a convenience store. (Her mother manages a convenience store.) So that she can understand her mother better.

Yeah people never realize the difference between a fear and a phobia yeah I’m scared of heights but sometimes I can muster enough courage to go on a roller coaster but I also have a phobia of chickens and even looking at a picture of one triggers me because of past trauma. There’s a hugeeee difference and people don’t seem to take that seriously.

I have drown before like twice when I was little and almost die but I have never had phobia deeper water because it's been years now I never in deep water, should I go to deeper water to see if I scare to deep water to confirm?

The one they did on Jackson and the last one was not cool. You dont play around or joke about stuff like that. I get the ghost pranks and the no reaction crowd prank. But man you cant joke around with family or about life and death.

Exactly the ghosts pranks to me are fine most of these people are young adults or late teens I’m pretty sure they know ghosts don’t exist. People have to understand these Kpop idols aren’t little children, BUT the Jackson prank and the death pranks seriously made me want to fight. Why even play about stuff like that it makes no sense to me. You could tell in their faces they were seriously upset, Jackson and those 2 guys were never the same after this.

I can’t really understand how the ghost pranks are ok. It’s not okay to play with peoples’ anxiety like that. I feel that I have more empathy as someone who has a crippling fear of getting jumpscared but no matter what it’s not okay to just play with peoples’ emotions and tell them to act normal when they’re in fact very scared. It’s not the ghost itself that’s horrifying (ghosts don’t even look like that lmfao), it’s the fact that it’s just lingering and you KNOW it’s going to scare you at any moment, you just don’t know which moment.

The prank that hit me the most was Hendery’s. I love him so much and this literally made me stare crying because he was freaking out. When I watched this it made me so angry because you should never mess with phobias or stuff that people are traumatized by to try and “fix” it. It’s only makes it worse because most of the time they push them too far. Like if they showed him ONE frog that would’ve been fine but having his dress like one and see them on the walls and a lot in a glass tank was too much. He freaking jumped up on the damn wall because he was scared! He was begging them to let him out but they wouldn’t do his members had to step in and help! Excuse my language but that’s just fucking wrong! Literally like what the heck?!

right! and the way lucas had to protect him even though he was so scared himself made me almost cry for them. as a person with an extreme phobia of worms and frogs too, i would honestly leave earth if i had to "face my fears" like that. they were literally forcing his phobia down his throat. the distress and anxiety on his face was so extreme i couldn't get myself to watch it. label v and sm really went overboard with this one. hendery's phobia was like a life or death situation and if they ever do that again to him or any of the other members, i will literally gather up my bags and sue sm.

jackson is such a wonderful person, and i hate how these shows abused his kindness and sincerity and i feel so awful. edit: im realising its not even just jackson that has gone through things like this. many variety shows abuse these idols kindness and i get they do it for laughs but there are other ways to make something comedic instead of ruining someones self esteem or overall mental state. i honestly dont know how its funny telling someone they have a month to live.

the frog one made me sick. the people who thought this was a good idea dont get what a phobia is at all. it’s totally different from a fear. a fear is something your afraid of, but your fear can lessen and whatnot, but a phobia is so much worse. that’s why they say “face your phobias” because phobias aren’t usually “overcome” if that makes sense. but yeah. all of these are so messed up... people should think more about others then “views” or whatnot.
