Agree with all the things being said about Indian diaspora. Indian diaspora has a big contribution to globalization. Jack Welch recognized the value of Indians in USA and sorted outsourcing to India. That’s how the IT outsourcing industry started in India. Indian diaspora has always supported India and always will, no matter what. But does India support its diaspora? Unfortunately, most Indians appreciate the diaspora only when India is in financial trouble, especially when rupee depreciates and forex reserves decline. Once these situations are overcome we are labelled Not Required Indians (NRI), deserters, refugees and so on. Most of the Indian diaspora are no longer Indian citizens. We may have the OCI card, but we are treated like second class citizens by Indian government and bureaucrats. If we make some constructive criticisms / comments about India, we are told, “You are no longer Indian citizens, so why are you poking your nose in the affairs of India.” Look at the financial regulations on derivatives and interest rates for NRIs vs. Indian citizens and you will see the difference.

Sorry,I don't agree to the anchors views and bragging on Indian Diaspora contribution. First, Ms Anchor please answer why these people leave India. What was that one common reason? Secondly, why do they remit? What is the common reason because of which they send remittance? It's because they have their older family members to take care of. These people don't invest in India because of cronies in every sector, tedious govt policies, etc... and the same is experienced by foreign investors. Thirdly, repeating again and again like a broken record... that we are good to have the youngest and most skilled people in the world for the next 2 decades, means nothing to me, unless these people will stay and contribute to India's growth( not sure if they will have opportunities).
