@lencawthraw68024 жыл бұрын
Is using gravy not a good thing? Most Indian restaurants I have visited probably do, that’s probably why so many curries taste very similar
@azizrahman94964 жыл бұрын
@@lencawthraw6802 most use gravy yes, hence food tasting same, authentic traditional bengali food will take at Least an hour to do, which in a high street curry house without being disrespectful isnt possible, lately this guy has been cooking at home to the help of am thinking his mother, this tells you he has yet to learn, (not being a bad thing)... Golden rule of cooking bengali food , me personally spices and timing..

@azizrahman94964 жыл бұрын
@@lencawthraw6802 my personal recommendation as I am a chef too, use a good quality oil, I use rapeseed oil, garlic finely diced 6/7 cloves, onions, salt to soften onions, heat oil, add garlic till softened or slightly browned, add onions, salt, stir it till soft, add 3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder cook 12/15 mins, add little drop of water if sticks to your pan, add your peeled prawns until cooked , natural occurring water will run off prawns, add water if you like it curry, or less water to keep it bhuna, dry, maybe little coriander.. hope this helps, May start my own channel lol

Another winner. Like you Latif, I probably would have cooked the prawns a "little" shorter but appreciate the nod to Grandma's way of cooking. Maybe in days gone by, they wanted to cook the prawn shells soft enough to munch down without peeling. Growing up in a big family, on the rare occasion hat we had a shrimp boil, if you wanted any quantity, you shoved them down shells and all! Delicious either way I am sure.
