Prayer works! I was in the ICU for three weeks with Covid, celebrated my 84th birthday there, survived the doctor telling me I was at 100% oxygen, and the next day he was going to ventilate me, and I would not live. My church friends fasted and prayed that day for me, and the next day my oxygen was down to 58%. I was released a week later to rehab. Four years later I’m still here. Who knows why, but I know absolutely that even simple prayers works. I love your podcasts. You are Soo good and doing a good job as parents.❤❤❤

I raised my children with a special hour at night, every night before bed for them with a small Bible story that we got in a children's devotionals. Then we would discuss what the story meant and how did it relate to each person in the family. We began this with prayer, a song of praise , the story, discussion and the end was another prayer. I can see that Jackson would be fantastic with this. It also showed my children that they mattered in the eyes of JESUS and in the eyes of mom and dad. This is how they were able to learn how to pray in group settings. Again, another tid bit.🙏

There's Power in Prayer!!!!!!
@lindagiorgio6058Ай бұрын
Great thoughts. In todays society people don't pray until there is a need, and that is so sad. I try to thank God everyday for everything that he has so richly blessed me with. Somedays I use names in my prayers for specific people, and sometimes it's just a general mention for friends and family and their needs. Lastly I ask for God's his continued blessings. That's my model prayer, but being human I pray more when something is going on, when I'm hurting and can barely walk, or the latest tragedy in the news, that's all just human nature. Faith and religion should always be taught first at home, don't depend on school, private, Christian or public school. You want to know your children are learning what is biblical and not just another mans interpretation. Thank you so much for you this podcast, you always make me think and that's from a 60 year old. May God continue to bless your family.

Like here you are, a roof over your head, food, warmth, a job, what is your problem, why are you struggling in life? But there I was. I have a dear friend who has sent me cards, messages of prayers a few years back when I was going through a health crisis. She popped into my head and heart and I reached out to her to pray for me now. She was right there for me, sending her prayers and most important, reminding me that I can talk to our Lord and ask for his help to guide me, and that it is ok. I am blessed .

We were in the same small group for about 5 years, and we always ended with prayer request. Everyone had to share a praise, prayer request, and confession of sin. That last one may sound odd, but it allowed us to get more vulnerable with each other and pray for each other in our struggles with sin. Not everyone was open and vulnerable, so people shared to the extent they felt comfortable in the group, but the Bible tells us to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed. Having these three components gave everyone a chance to share requests and not feel bad because someone else may be going through something tragic, we all need prayer no matter what. And bringing even the small requests to God shows that we acknowledge we are dependent on Him for everything, big and small.

I believe prayer is an ongoing conversation we have with God. I think you hit the nail on the head as far as thanking and praising while at the same time laying needs of ourselves and others at his feet. In my mind, He already knows our needs,wants and desires, but just like parents of adult children, He just likes to "hear from the kids". He likes to hang with us and what an awesome thought, that the Creator of the universe loves us and wants relationship with us! Again thanks for this. You guys hit this podcast out of the park!

24:00 I have come closer to knowing God and walking in my faith with Christ because we often ask God why me, but often times we forget that Satan is in this world and controlling it. God can intervene and does intervene when necessary but Jah also has to prove Satan a liar and show people that God is the almighty. God feels exactly what we feel x1000 and He doesn’t want us to go through these trials but that is when we should lean on him most and when we are on the other side, our faith is strengthened tremendously. We never understand why we go through what we go through in the storm but when the storm is past we often have gained something positive from our storms. Love this podcast so much

I definitely relate, Tori! I often think I’m a terrible friend too because I just don’t think to reach out because I’m such an introvert that I don’t really crave constant communication myself, and I forget that not everyone’s like that. What you said about you and your best friend is so spot on with how me and my best friend are too, we usually get together for lunch every 2-3 months and rarely even text between those times unless we’re buddy reading a book together or something, but when we hang out it’s like no time has passed and we just pick up where we left off. And I so love and agree with the prayer topic. I know I’ve definitely found myself thinking along the lines of “there are others that have it so much worse than me, I’m not gonna bother God with my piddling little problems” when He wants to be there for us no matter how big or small the situation is. Kinda like I read or heard something a while back along the lines of, if someone’s going through something that they feel is the worst thing that’s ever happened to them, even if you’ve been through worse things, that doesn’t mean it’s not the worst thing that’s ever happened to them. It feels like social media has made everything into such a competition no matter what it is, I mean you can’t post something as simple as “man it was hot today, it was 100°!” without someone chiming in with “well it was 115° here today” like why are we competing on who has it worse? There’s always gonna be someone who’s worse off than us, but that doesn’t negate the struggles we do have. And aside from narcissists, I don’t think when most of us are asking for prayer or venting about something we’re dealing with, that we’re claiming that our struggles are harder than someone else’s (at least I hope not) but if we waited until we felt like we had it worse than everyone else, we’d never pray or talk about anything. I don’t do it enough, but I tell you what, the prayers where I’m not asking for anything and am just thanking God for his mercy, grace, and all the other blessings He’s given me, are the ones that I walk away from feeling the most at peace and closest to Him 🙏🏻

I needed this podcast so much today, I am also in a content spot in life with my family also but on the other hand my aunt is fighting for her life against cancer and it is not looking good. It is often times that we look to God for help in a difficult time but it is just as important to pray for thankfulness in the good parts of life. Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to our God and Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even in the tough times we are going through we are always gaining something whether it be strength, endurance and/or knowledge but God is to thank for all of these things.

It’s great that you are content there are Aleah’s others to pray for. Also just like Zach was saying you have to have a constant conversation with God thanking him that you can be content.

Don’t usually talk about politics or religion, but I do love your other podcasts.

Tori, you are so on point, what is will add is. Each of us on our journey, those that are in your "world" could be in a valley while you are on a mountain top... that means the mountain top brings the valley up through prayers. I will also say, don't feel guilty because YWHW didn't call you to experience "their" trial. And if we are honest, the trial that you have of being vulnerable with your life in exposure is something I couldn't deal with. So I pray for both you and Zack and your kids in that journey. ✌️ and ❤️

“Act like a girl at a Taylor Swift concert” had me on the FLOOR laughing. Tori , don’t worry, we ALL know coaches like that, Zach is keeping it real!!

Really enjoyed Zach's thoughts on being prepared for times of trial and being tested and overcoming things. And Tori's thoughts on not all of us being in the same boat at the same time. Wise and true words! Really enjoying listening to you guys talk together on anything :) such a beautiful couple and team :) love your humility, both of you :)

Good discussion. Tory, you are at a phase in your life with your family. God has put you and Zack in the care of your beautiful children. Just the fact that you see the need to be a better friend is a step in the right direction. Never be hesitant to ask the Lord to guide you in this area. God bless you both.

Soccer competitiveness only gets worse…and dance & cheer & music etc . I am a distracted prayer, working on that ! We all need prayer all the time.
