Prayer - Embracing Our World With Compassion and Understanding

SRF nun Sister Preeti shares ways to enrich your prayer life through practical guidance from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. She explains that prayer is a life-changing practice, not only for those for whom we pray, but for ourselves as well: “Remember, God sent help. He sent you. As we open our hearts more and more to God, our growing love for Him spills over into love for all His children, our brothers and sisters, struggling for joy, suffering through war, famine, disease, imprisonment.”

I remember being at this convocation and Sister Preeti's presentation and I was so moved by her story of the woman in the accident and the passer by who prayed for her.... since that time every time I pass an accident, I hear sirens and I pass by a homeless person I always ask God to bless them. There were so many other moving moments like the "purity of heart" and it's importance, so important for our ascending age, I have Sri Yukteswar's Holy Science on my desk and refer to Sutra's 23 - 32 often. Coincidence doesn't exist. I just finished lesson 5 Communing with God through Prayer. And watched this talk. Very powerful to transitioning to the next lesson. I always make a little prayer when I heard the sirens of ambulances and police, but also when I see an animal dead on the road. Thankfully there is more people practicing this form of compassion and love for others. I will rewatch again, definitely
