What Ramsey has been doing to Theon is called conditioning. The subject is completely broken mentally, emotionally, and if necessary physically in order to completely strip away their identity. Then another identity is introduced. Hence why Ramsey renamed him. It's pretty much the worst thing that you can do to a person without killing them.
@83gemm4 ай бұрын
The acting really carries it, too. It’s such a delicate mental game, but they both go for it fearlessly without it being over the top. When Theon crawls back in the cage, it hurts. I’ve heard that actors who play villains well are usually nice in real life (which makes sense because a bad person wouldn’t get the nuance of why someone is despicable). Iwan Rheon must be a heck of good guy if that’s true, because hoo boy does he play pure evil well!

"Shae. Please don't." ~Tyrion on trial. What an amazing scene when Shae was presented as a witness for the prosecution. Shae is only testifying because her life is in danger...she was taken to the Tower of the Hand when Cercei pointed her out to Tywin at the Wedding Breakfast and has been under his watch/thumb since.
@Akiraspin3 ай бұрын
Shae literally said she's not afraid of dying, she's not being forced at all, she's doing it because she's spiteful and evil. Everything you say is pure cope and willful speculation. In the books Shae is horrible and George confirmed that she never loved Tyrion, she loved his money and the status associated with being around him. She sells out Tyrion for a promise of marrying Lancel and getting a lordship, and mocks him during the trial by mocking him and their sex life to humiliate him, then laughs with everyone at him.
@a.j.18193 ай бұрын
@@AkiraspinI’m sick of seeing these comments. We’ve already established that book and show canon is different. Shae begged Tyrion to run away with her multiple times, without his status and his riches. She was always protecting Sansa even when she was jealous of her, where is this evil you speak of? We literally see Cersei point her out to Tywin at Joffrey’s wedding and then Tywin has her brought to him. What do you think happened then? They drank tea together? Of course he either forced her/threatened her or promised her riches and protection. At that point she was a woman scorned looking out for herself. She was bitter, naive and self-serving, nowhere near this evil monster dummies like you love to make her out to be. Others aren’t blinded, you’re the one blinded by hatred and unable to separate the books from the show. Smh.

Stannis and Davos went to Bravos. We lovecus some Bravos. Where the Iron Bank is. They do the Water Dancing that Arya practices in Bravos. That's also where her friend, Jaqen H'Gar is from. The statue is The Mad Titan of Bravos. But it is based on a real statue from the ancient world, the Colossus of Rhodes. It was a statue of the Sun God Helios, and I believe it was built to commemorate a successful defense of an attack on Rhodes. One of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, iirc. I don't recall specifics without looking it up. But yeah, based on reality.

Notice how (with some exceptions during Shae's testimony) everything in the trial is based on Tyrion's real words and actions? He's a villain in the books. His own behavior is used to condemn him, and it wasn't even that difficult. Also, Shae asked him to run away with her, and he refused because he likes his job too much, apparently. She definitely should have been more discreet, but if he truly wanted her to leave, he could have made that happen much earlier.
