So for people who are wondering what the big deal is: A few years ago a young woman, (like in her twenties) Elisa Lam died in the Cecil. Her roommates noticed really strange behavior from her then proceeded to kick her out from the room. She continued to act EXTREMELY strange. (elevator footage on KZbin) Suddenly she went missing. It really wasn’t a big deal, just no one had seen her. For weeks the guests complained about the water tasting funny and having a strange color. Finally, a worker went to investigate. Only to find Elisa dead and naked laying in the water tank. No wounds, no blood, no clothes. But the clothes were in the water tank with her along with her purse. That is the exact same route Elisa took to the water tanks.

For those who don’t understand. In 2013 there was a woman named Elisa Lam. When she stayed at the hotel, she mysteriously enough disappeared. Some of the people staying there said that the water was tasting funky, so one of the workers went up to check. This is the juicy part. When the worker looked in the water, she saw Elisa Lam’s corpse undressed in the tank. To this day, none knows (except for the possibility that there were murderers involved) what actually happened.

They did actually find out what happened! She had bipolar 1 and experienced hallucinations and delusions. She likely was experiencing those and went to hide in the water tanks (her thinking will have been incredibly irrational at this point). She later realised she needed to get out but she couldn’t because there were no ladders and water was being sucked down, taking her with it. She shedded her clothes either to lose additional weight or as a symptom of hypothermia (the water was freezing). She then drowned. Tragic.

No one really knows why she went into the tank but there are theories (I’ll state 2 of them) so the 1st one is she was being followed for something, they have footage of her going into the the elevator and going out again. The next one is she purposely killer herself. But she climbed up to the water towers and drowned. bro i thought that place shut down after they found that poor womans body in the water tank... whats awful is how a MURDERER would run back and forth through there and no one COULD stop him! theres a documentary on Netflix i do recommend. its such a story dudes...
