Brilliant! Thanks so much for this excellent Maths video, perfect for younger students to get exposed to some really fundamental but hard to explain concepts.

Animated maths really kicks asses. I mean it is really good way to express the idea behind mats. Most teachers just saying stuff and you have to visualise like you can. With this lecture it really open minds that something is shown as a line. I know it is simple stuff but it very interesting to see.

Your video series is fantastic. I do have a question though... I'm wondering why we are using the letters "p" and "q" to represent the numerator and denominator respectively instead of something more memorable, like "n" and "d". I'm assuming there is a specific reason behind this convention and that it will become apparent later, but I am curious...

@@milestailsprower4555"Arithmetic is an elementary part of mathematics that consists of the study of the properties of the traditional operations on numbers-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponentiation, and extraction of roots." Seems like wikipedia thinks of roots as Arithmetic.

Exactly! Rooting is not an arithmetic operation. Exponentiation is, but not rooting or anything else like that.

Improper fractions. Which you can easily correct. Guess how?

The only problem is the graphic representation on the number line : O is not zero but the supposed Origin and the point 1 is neither a point nor one but the supposed End ; the whole distance is a Unit.

Here is a tip: Natural numbers are Fractions. The denominator of the fraction is 1. Example: 5 = 5/1
