How would you represent 0^n (n being a positive integer) using fractions?
@MyWhyU8 жыл бұрын
Since zero multiplied by itself n times is zero, 0^n (n>0) is zero. On the other hand, zero to a negative power is undefined since that is the same as 1/0 to a positive power and 1/0 is undefined. It is interesting that zero to the zero power is also undefined. This is because any non-zero number to the zero power is 1 and zero to any positive power is zero. If you plot the function "z = x^y" where x and y are variables, as you approach the origin where x = y = 0, the function becomes discontinuous. As you get infinitely close to the origin, x^y has different values depending upon the direction from which you approach the origin.

@@MyWhyU This means 1/0 will be Infinity

when the exponential expression have the base one 1 raised to any power the answer is one 1 ,even with a negative exponent ex: 1^-2 =1/(1^2) = 1/(1x1) =1/1=1.
