The beautiful false filigree earrings are Sinu and 18k. Very unusual to find a mated pair in great condition! The last appears to be a small Tunjos figure that tests as 14k to 15k. Yes, high copper content is also very interesting because copper must have been plentiful to these people. I was surprised to see such a high copper content in the piece you showed. Severely cleaned may be because it was in the water. I will definitely be getting the books about these kinds of pieces. I think it’s very fashionable because of everything you mentioned. I told my dinner pals about this video because I found it so fascinating. My friend visited the Museum of Gold in Borgata. Lucky Her!

Your pre Colombian pieces are amazing! I’m fascinated by this work but so much of this gold work was melted down and sent to Spain as doubloons! haha! so sadly it’s really hard to find. Your information is quite accurate and fascinating. We lived in Bolivia. Didn’t find any gold only silver but also stunning. Andean pieces are something I always look for but seldom find!

@@jasonadams8633 you did great! It’s a complex issue and archeology is working hard. I’m no expert at all. But did take a bunch of Maya studies back in the day. I think your collection is probably worth more than what you’re thinking based on age and rarity. In Bolivia, when Atahualpa was captured and imprisoned his ransom was to fill the Cori Cancha (the place he was imprisoned) with gold objects. This was done by his people. And then Spain melted all that gold and sent it to the mint in potosi. Imagine how many treasures were lost! I’m so glad Columbia managed to save as much as they did. The Conquista was a disaster! I’m really happy that you did your show and brought attention to this dark part of American history!
