This is a video of the Norwegian ship Skandi Vega in action!
Skandi Vega is a large and powerful vessel designed for deepwater anchor handling during demanding environmental conditions.
The Bollard pull is 350 ton and the winches can pull 500 ton.
The Ship is 110 meters long and the Breadth is 24 meters and can room 88 persons

The vessel is mostly operating in The North Sea!

that vryhof anchor only should be used for "pleasure" sailboats to deliver cargo without engine while oil rigs should be dismantled along offshore turbines i made a hybrid replica of vyrhof's stevshark rex with also similar ballastless mantus anchor shape

Nice video, Stian! I was wondering. If the anchors are pre-layed, does an oil-rig still need help from an AHTS when it arrives on location? I know it needs help when leaving.

The AHTS would typically pull the rig out on site. Then we would have 4 vessels, one on each corner. The AHTS's would come in, two at a time, diagonally, and we would give each its pennant, which they would then connect to its respective anchorchain, via a kenterlink wich is kind of like a shackle. Then the rig will pull in on the chain till it's tight. The vessels come in on each corner and collec their second pennant, and repeating the previous. The rest is up to the rig, pulling on each chain as much as needed, depending on sea depth. A rig will typically have 8 anchors, 2 on each corner. A minimum of 3 or two AHTS is needed, but we always used 4. Is there any chance i got this right, Stian? Used to work on Borgland Dolphin.
