Do whats best for you. Luxury designer brands still use pre order/ pre sale method. All that matters is how you present it
@DaveNash6 ай бұрын
People don't know what's best for themselves, that's why I made the video. Once someone makes a luxury brand doing 7 figures and understands how to build customer trust at scale, they can start using preorder method responsibly to boost sales. Even I do preorders still, but mine are usually around 2 week waits and only for 1 product out of 30 on the store at a time when it goes out of stock
@justin46534 ай бұрын
But Apple and video games ONLY do preorders for its products, so it is preorders method or poor transparency and quality??? You can send your product next day, but still have poor quality. So preorders aren’t bad, just terrible marketing and quality of product or service.

How do you feel about holding majority inventory for your drops such as hoodies, sweats, tees, essential denim, and then doing a very unique pre-order design drop? Build trust with your customers with inventory held drops, while building your sms list, and then every now and then do a very unique pre order drop (designs no other brand has thought of) while providing production updates and staying on top of email/dm responses
@DaveNash6 ай бұрын
That set-up should be fine...Just keep a relationship with the customer where they can, on average, expect high quality service + communication. There are time and places to use pre-orders.

Its definitely feasable that a brand's whole brand has the pre order model cooked into the branding and marketing, with the product type and quality/exclusivity being that you are receiving a work of art, if you will. My humble 1000 customers will eagerly wait with anticipation for a new issue of a piece(s) of fine china dishwear each quarter as it is appropriate and standard to do so. That is the business. (Yes, I am comparing my fashion designs to dine china 😁. i guess even better is to then add, sell somethin ancillary that doesn't have to be long waited and pre order then boom./ ...... I also feel like selling a "streetwear" ish, graphic heavy, very niche aesthetic brand at that high rate,.. on blanks. dilutes the brand and is headed to the garbage and is built for the owner to shutter it and use it as case study to start their mentor business, or just have a pivot in general, which is wonderful!!! I just think a higher quality brand in terms of make and lasting appeal can succeed under the pre order model. But what do i know, thanks for helping me think critically, i have a lot of decisions to make.😂 I just felt compelled to add my 2 cents. Wonderful content, thank you for leading!!
@DaveNash5 ай бұрын
@@LangHelmut the more luxury and detailed your brand and pieces are the less you should do preorder because why would you make a customer who pays $300 for a jacket wait? they are VIP big spenders, dont make them wait
@LangHelmut5 ай бұрын
I MEANT TO ADD THAT, THE WHOLE CONTEXT OF MY RESPONSE WAS INITIALLY, I SAW YOU REPLY TO SOMEONE SAYING TO THE EFFECT OF, THERE ARE TIMES WHEN PRE ORDER IS APPROPRIATE. YOU SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED EARLIER ON, JUST STARTING OUT. BUT IN YOUR OPINION, WHEN ELSE. MAY YOU OLEASE DO A VIDEO ON THE : POSSIBLE/A BETTER WAY(S) TO DO PRE ORDER??

@@DaveNash I actually will have a Bespoke brand later with the "custom"... The original what I'm talking is not custom, that's just what it costs, I draw inspiration from Rick Owens, it's kinda like that, dare I say

I understand your perspective on pre-orders but I’m curious about how we can gauge sales potential without them. Pre-orders often help assess public interest and fund production. What do you suggest as alternative ways to test demand before launching a product?
@DaveNash4 ай бұрын
you can do preorder for first 1-2 drops to ensure demand otherwise - be confident in your ability to design good product

I would still use the pre order method for my first drop, im 16 and just don’t have the capital for 50 tracksuits. But i would still like your opinion on it.
@DaveNashАй бұрын
in this situation you should use preorder. if you dont have capital you have no option. otherwise, get a job and save up!
@brockjohnson97744 ай бұрын
So starting out, if I make the investment to buy bulk inventory instead of preorder, when do you know when to replenish inventory? i.e i start with 100 shirts, 35 medium, i start gaining some traction and getting my first customers, how do you determine when to re-order when suppliers can take almost a month+?

@@DaveNashout of the 10 designs. Would you recommend ordering let’s say 3-4 ‘best ones’ and then the rest as you grow your fan base? Also before ordering a bulk, would you advise on testing? So, ordering a sample and posting it on socials to get peoples feedback? Incase they don’t think it’s good? Or take a risk
