Don't over think it! I find the less I think, the better I run. You got this. And don't worry about the cups, that's the least important thing to worry about. XD Just have fun!!! Good luck! I'm sure you can run under 1:30 :))

Soccer players always beat me in races, since they run way more during training than what I did. My running was usually just a 15 minutes warm up start. My best run was a 30 km with rifle and 10 kg packpack at a welterweight bodyweight.

Rest up, relax and let it rip on Saturday, you've got this! Just do your best on the day and the time come. And one important thing: what shoes are you gonna wear? 👟

Thanks man! Running in the Hoka Carbon X 2! My favorite running shoe so far!

Could you elaborate on your injuries a little more? Were they preventable or just bad luck? I noticed that you ran you half with high cushioned shoes having a drop. Are your injuries in any way related to your new choice of shoes? (You used to advocate for zero drop Altra shoes)
@LoneEndurance3 жыл бұрын
Sure! First of all, I ran in Hoka Carbon X2 which are low drop shoes. All of Hokas shoes are low drop (3-5mm typically). Strangely enough, the Altras were too naroow for my foot around the midfoot. Hoka fit me better and they also feel WAY better in terms of cushioning in my opinion. I don't think shoe choice was the issue for me, and I've run in Hokas for quite while before the injuries. It's a long story but here's a summary: Took a training break of several weeks due to a health issue, got achilles issues when I started up again (likely due to ramping up volume too fast), backed off again, and then when I finally got up in volume again I was stupid and did two hard workouts with just one day easy between - on top of higher volume than recently - and my left peroneal got super stiff. It was a tendon issue and it took a year of rehab to get to 100% again. It's fine now but I notice it sometimes (scar tissue probably). That's it really. So basically preventable for sure. Ramping up volume too quickly, running too fast relative to load capacity (ie. not building up the speed in workouts systematically over several months) and planning too little recovery between hard sessions. Classic mistakes. I've learned my lesson though. I probably do have some biomechanical issues that might make me more prone to injury though, as most do. I'm working on them! :)

@@LoneEndurance Thank you. You probably could have done a video about it. So that others can learn from it.

So the Flat Foot running shoes affected your legs negatively?
@LoneEndurance3 жыл бұрын
You mean the shoes I tried a few months ago? Yes definitely...but they were not the cause of my injuries.
