When I was mobile I used Superiors Formula 1 directly after rinsing in the sun and heat. Spray it on and immediately rinse it off. It gave you time to contact wash without worrying about water spots.

I use superior products formula 4 as well especially since I live in west texas where it’s hot almost all year round during the day 😂😂

I prefer to pre-rinse after my post-wash. It only makes sense after mixing things up and trial and error. Try it out.

APC pre rinse Def does work. I took trip to niagra falls from NY which is 8 hours. Car was dirty even before trip. I had lot of bugs and other junk on vehicle. I did super clean 1:4 in ik foamer and foam on front and side lower panels. It's start beading. I had griots wash and coat on vehicle before trip.

My limited experience tells me to think on my feet. You have to do whatever the vehicle needs. The environment is a big difference maker too. Just like washing in winter and summer. Cool video. Hi wife.

I've started trying out the pre foaming before rinsing and found that it's working really well for me. I'm outside in direct sun. Just have to be mindful of the soap drying. I'm using Xtreme Solutions Xtreme Suds.

I like the comparison and how it shows how not pre rinsing affects your time, the dwell time and the use of more product instead of more water...you will get caught up with the dwell time and by the time you reach the other side (if use a wash mitt along with your foam) it'll be too dry to go over. Everyone who wash cars needs to remember lubricity is your friend if you want to minimize scratches on your clear and pre rinse gives u that initial lubrication aside from taking out the fine dust particles embedded on the paint, especially the rubber seal on the windows which trapped all the fine dust particles which when foamed with no rinse will basically run down your paint halfway through but covered in foam then u rob your wash mitt unknowingly that there are dust particles on the foam then wonder after as to why theres marring or scratches in your paint . jmho

Yes very true. I have always found that pre rinsing before the APC rinse or pre wash is important for those reasons. So many people don’t think of the little things that can over time effect the vehicle. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Phil and Jess. I started to use snow foam without rinsing first. What i found it was much better at removing dirt than rinsing first. Caveat is that i use a Worx cordless for my foaming. I also the other day foamed the car with shampoo as a pre clean and it seemed to be the same at removing dirt as the snow foam. So not sure if snow foam is necessary, just use shampoo.

Phil I know you love trying different products but 3d super soap is the car wash soap to end them all. Only a half ounce per foam cannon and an ounce for a 5 gallon bucket. What you'd like the most that you mentioned previously is that the bucket stays foamy! 10min after filling up the bucket and there is still nice suds with great lubricity.

Hey Phil and Jess. Looks like you guys got a workout on this day. I use CarPro’s Descale. I use it as part of strip and decontamination wash. Really does a great job. I noticed the tires on the Tahoe, and CarPro’s new ReTyre would have been awesome on those tires. I also use a MTM foam cannon. 3year running, not an issue and great performance. So, sometimes paying a little more pays off. Another video where I learn stuff cause I don’t miss stuff. 😂😎Till the next one.

Thanks man. Yeah it was a busy day! Those tires never come clean no matter what we use. Something’s messed up with them. We have used the Retyre on them before and they brown up when scrubbing multiple times and hit they still look like that. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Oh well. Not worried about it. The MTM is definitely nice. But honestly the MJJC one is better! It feels better, foams better (in my opinion) and the metal ball on the straw part is a nice feature that makes sure it never runs dry at angles. 😎👍🏼

@@MirandaDetailing That’s too bad about the ReTyre, I think it is an awesome product and I am a P&S Brake Buster fan. I always judge products by how many times I reach for it. I know that ReTyre has become my favourite. And the foam cannon, I think I’ll try one. The Canadian dealers sell them, not sure for how much. My wife likes buying me some detailing supplies as Christmas stocking stuffers. I think I will put one of those on her list. 😎

Personally I use a pre-rinse or pre foam with about a ph of 10 so they are both the same to me. It just depends how dirty the car is and what I am in the mood for. I prefer the IK former which is ready to go versus filling up the snow cannon and then cleaning it out. Both methods work very well so it is just depends on the temperature of the paint. What pre-rinse method do you prefer personally? Looking for something safe to use on protected vehicles, but also maybe overthinking that option as most protected cars should clean off easier compared to non or people who care less lol

@@ArthurMSoto For a ceramic coated car I prefer to use rinseless wash. The process is quick and safe for the paint. For a true maintenance wash I let carpro reset dwell from the foam cannon. Then I rinse and begin the contact wash with a ph neutral soap.

Do you ever have to clay a coated car with crystal serum light through out the 5 years ? What if it gets gritty or an overspray after a while and iron remover isn’t enough on yearly wash?

Hi. No it’s not good to clay bar a ceramic coating. If it does get some grit using chemicals like iron, tar, and water spot removers will help. Or using CarPro Essence plus with a soft pad will help remove some grit without removing the coating.

Ah I see what you mean now. I don’t use snow foam in the typical way as some do. In fact if you watch more of our videos you would see that. I actually rely on the Apc Rinse/pre wash method to actually clean the paint. The foaming part is for the contact wash to add lubrication and cushion. Sometimes I do use a stronger cleaning soap to use as a pre wash in which we foam the vehicle down to clean it before we contact wash it. But I certainly don’t “snow foam” like you see others do. My technique in both the APC rinse/pre wash and foaming actually works in the real world. The problem with people saying it’s a gimmick is not asking the right questions so as to ascertain exactly the how, why, and when to use such methods.

That’s a good question! Yes you can. And I used to do that, until I found out that foaming is way faster, more efficient, and uses less soap. All around our method is faster and produces better results for us. We learned over the years that some methods that we see other detailers doing was updated and slow. So we adapted and now have an awesome process that gives us the results we want. 😎👍🏼
