I used to make the mistake of helping out social guilds and new player guilds. They're just awful. Every single one has had players just like this and there's always at least ONE guy who refuses to stop messaging me until I have to block him. Socials are awful.

This reminded me of my experience doing something similar. After clearing a certain WoD raid on mythic, I went back and helped one of my friend's guilds that wanted to clear it on heroic. I gave some help with strats, coached up some of the players etc. All of this was accepted and appreciated for the most part. However, when one of them decided he was ready for the big times, he applied to my guild(US 93rd at the time). He wasn't terrible, but with the number of apps we got then he was lost in the sea of people who were much more experienced with our style of raiding, further progressed, better geared and performing better. He was almost instantly declined. He decided to complain to his GM and make me the bad guy. Well, he was gkicked as a traitor and I was no longer welcome in their raid.

Sup @Preach! About guild meets. We started raiding together back in the beginning of TBC. Now, we're scattered over a bunch of games, and some are still playing World of Warcraft, but in another guild. Even tho' we officially "disbanded" in early Warlords, we've had an annual ONE WEEK guild meetings every summer since 2010 where we had our debut in Lapland Finland. Since then, we've been in Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden. We're actually thinking about going to England for our ten years anniversary. I can highly recommend doing something similar. We've gotten such a bond to each other and I consider all of them as a part of my "second family".

i raided with a mage like that in my old guild. was one of the absoulte worst dps ive ever seen and acted so rude and smug despite only pulling less than 100k dps on krosus, i quit that guild and found a good guild and did 7/10 mythic. best decision i made. I wonder if it was the same guild. the experience made me hate most casual players who are stubbern and cant get it through their heads theyre bad and wont take any recommendations.. oh well, let them stagnate on normal doing less than minimum dps

I tried being a backup healer for my guild and all the healers were so good I couldn't get much healing off until phases of the fight that did intense raid wide damage. I have the gear for the most part, but not the skill to use it for healing. I don't know how someone who gets sniped constantly gets oom though, because you shouldn't be using your expensive heals unless there is a lot of damage going out. Personally I just used my aoe and focused a bit more on dps until a more heal intensive part of the fight with a few cheaper heals thrown out in between.

It's kinda understandable on a druid or a Disc priest, who need to get their stuff out before the damage hits. Which means they will also spend their mana beforehand. It's manageable in organized groups, for example, I know at which parts our Disc is ramping up, so I hold back myself on those moments. But in random groups, you are lucky if healers have even a cd rotation or if they are gonna stick to it if one is given. Sadly that means pro-active healers like Resto druid and Disc priest can get sniped hard after they spend mana on their setup.
